Clarence S. Stauffer, 91, New Holland, owner of C.S. Stauffer & Sons, enjoyed camping

Clarence S. Stauffer, 91, of New Holland, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Harry and Hettie (Stoner) Stauffer; and was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Steffy) Stauffer, who died in May 2011.

A member of Metzler’s Mennonite Church, he was a charter member of the Garden Spot Lions Club, awarded the Melvin Jones Award, enjoyed camping, working outside and his pet dogs. Clarence was the founder and business owner of C.S. Stauffer & Sons in Hinkletown. In his earlier years he worked on the railroad line from Rothsville to Lititz.

Clarence is survived by four sons: Bruce, husband of Joan (McFarland) Stauffer, of Akron; Clare, husband of Peg (Brown) Stauffer, of Brownstown; C. Laverne, husband of Loretta (Lapp) Stauffer, of Ephrata; Mahlon, husband of Linda (Kreider) Stauffer, of Paradise; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Services were held Nov. 30 at Metzler Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with the Revs. Eugene Zoll, Ryan Bomgardner, and Lee Roy Martin officiating. Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery.

Lori Lynn Stayer, 53, Denver, worked at ENB, mother of five, enjoyed the Outer Banks

Lori Lynn Stayer, 53, of Denver, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at her residence.

She was born in Lancaster and was the wife of Ben Stayer. They were married 33 years on Nov. 13.

She graduated from Conestoga Valley High School and Word of Life Bible Institute. Lori was a member of Washington Avenue Bible Church and helped in the nursery and was co-teacher/leader with her husband Ben with the young couples class.

She worked as an administrative assistant for Ephrata National Bank where she worked with a wonderful group of people. Lori was a great encouragement to all she came in contact with. She was an honorary survivor for the 2013 Relay for Life. Lori was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, mentor, and friend to many. She dearly loved her family and fought hard to live these past 11 years battling cancer.

Outer Banks beach trips were one of her favorite family vacation spots. Lori will be dearly missed and she will live on in the memories of many. We have the hope of being reunited with her in heaven where she will be “Nana” to the three little ones that have gone on before her.

Lori is survived by father: William “Bill” Robinson; mother: Billie (Kellon) Robinson; husband: Ben Stayer of Denver; five wonderful daughters: Allison Stayer of Kalispell, Mont.; Holly, wife of Steve Olsen, of Reinholds; Mandy Stayer, partner of Steve Taylor, of Lancaster; Leesha Stayer of Denver; Erin Stayer of Lancaster; granddaughter: Sydney “Snookums” Hope Olsen; brother: Rick, husband of Cindi Robinson, of New Holland; and a niece: Bree Robinson.

Services were held Nov. 28 at Reamstown Church of God, Stevens, with Pastor Jay Quirk officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

Jay Russell ‘Russ’ Ober, 91, WWII vet, Elizabeth Township supervisor, Brickerville Fire Co. volunteer

Jay Russell “Russ” Ober, 91, passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, in the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim.

He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. Grube Ober. He was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Clay Township, a son of the late Lloyd B. and Edna F. Zartman Ober.

Russ was a graduate of Ephrata High School, Class of 1942, farmed for 25 years, and worked for Elizabeth Township; he served as a supervisor for 16 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Russ was a life member of the Brickerville Fire Company where he served on the membership chairman committee and was an apparatus driver. He was a member of the Brickerville United Lutheran Church and served on the St. John’s Cemetery Board and a member of the Wilkins Flat hunting camp in Tioga County since 1950.

He is survived by children: Dennis Ober, and wife Debbie Eby Ober, of Lititz; Linda Bomberger, and husband Tim, of Lititz; Nancy Groswold, and husband Eric, of Arvada, Colo.; daughter-in-law: Rachel Sechrist Ober of Lititz; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Kathryn Zimmerman and husband Roy of Brethren Village; Jean Lorah and husband Carl of Ephrata; brothers: Alton Ober of Akron; Luther Ober of Pleasant View Retirement Community; Lester Ober of Ephrata; Carl Ober of Ephrata.

He was preceded in death by a son: James Russell Ober.

Services were held Dec. 2 at Brickerville United Lutheran Church, Lititz. Interment was in the St. John’s Cemetery, Brickerville.

Eli H. Weiler, 86, Ephrata, father of nine, farmer, Springville Mennonite member

Eli H. Weiler, 86, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in New Holland to the late Abram and Susanna (Hoover) Weiler, and was the husband of Ellen (Wenger) Weiler.

He was a member of Springville Mennonite Church. Eli worked as a farmer. After retirement, he worked part time at the Shopping News.

In addition to his wife, Eli is survived by nine children: Esther Stauffer of Narvon; LeRoy, husband of Jacqueline Weiler, of Hamburg; Melvin, husband of Jacqueline Weiler, of Ephrata; John, husband of Karen Weiler, of Ephrata; Mark Weiler of Ephrata; Marvin, husband of Deborah Weiler, of Denver; Mary Ellen, wife of Gerald Nissley, of Middletown; Jason, husband of Kim Weiler, of Bradenton, Fla.; Glenn, husband of Grace Weiler, of Attica, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: David and Paul Weiler; and two granddaughters.

Services were held Dec. 5 at Springville Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Bishop Melvin Martin and Ministers Wilmer Martin, Walter Martin, and Walter Zimmerman officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.

Elvin Z. Brubaker, 55, of Bethel, died Dec. 4 at Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Elvin was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference. His daughter, Marilyn, wife of Randall Fox, lives in Denver. Daughter Marlene, wife of Linford Martin, lives in Stevens.

Harlan L. Diem, 72, of Lincoln, Del., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Nov. 29 at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, Del. He was born in Lancaster County. For over 50 years, Harlan worked in the garment industry. He also owned and operated Diem’s Cycle Shop in Kinzers. A daughter, Linda Bailey, wife of David, lives in Ephrata. A daughter, Stefanie Printz, wife of Chuck, resides in Denver.

Mary K. Ditzler, 99, of Lititz, passed away peacefully Dec. 6 at Audubon Villa, Lititz. Mary spent most of her life being a devoted wife and mother raising her family. She was a longtime faithful member of Faith United Church of Christ in Lancaster where she volunteered in many ways. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Lancaster County Public Library for many years and enjoyed crocheting. Her daughter, Anita Brown; and stepdaughter, June Simmons, wife of Ira, reside in Ephrata.

Edward T. Eggers, 75, of Lowman, N.Y., died Nov. 25 at home surrounded by his loving family after battling cancer. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Sam Houston, where he got the opportunity to visit several countries and provided some of his fondest lifelong memories. Following studying agricultural/mechanical engineering at Cornell University, he accepted a position with New Holland Machine Co, where he remained until his retirement in 1994. His daughter, Karen Comerford, wife of James, lives in Ephrata.

Geraldine E. Greblowski, 73, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital, Nov. 29. “Musmy,” as she was affectionately called by many, loved being with her family, especially her granddaughters. She enjoyed listening to music. She was thoughtful, kind, compassionate, loving, giving, and always thinking of her family. She enjoyed reading her Bible. Her daughter, Andrea, wife of Hailu Tilahun, lives in Ephrata.

N. Richard “Dick” Jackson, 83, of Lawrenceville, died Dec. 3 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He was a self-employed crop sprayer, mushroom grower, and the last 20 years an owner operator. He was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood; the Masonic Lodge of Oxford; and the Slumbering Groundhog Lodge of Quarryville. His son, Rick, husband of Kim Jackson, lives in Ephrata.

Betty Lou Kroft, 88, of Lancaster, formerly of Delaware, died Dec. 3 at Ephrata Manor, where she had been a guest since September. Betty had worked for RCA, Schick and Hamilton Watch. She was of the Presbyterian Faith and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, playing cards and watching TV game shows.

Marlin H. Lehman, 80, of Lititz, died peacefully Dec. 1 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Marlin was employed for 20 years in the mechanical services department of the Horst Group, Lancaster. He was active in Mennonite Disaster Service, Lititz; and the Mennonite Central Committee Re-Uzit of Ephrata.

Gerald R. “Jerry” Snavely, 73, of Manheim, died peacefully Dec. 1 at Lancaster General Hospital. For over 37 years Jerry worked for Alcoa, Lancaster plant until his retirement. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Manheim VFW. He enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening. His daughter: Kerry, wife of Greg Witwer; grandson: Bryson Puryear; and sister: Nancy, wife of Gerald Bollinger, all reside in Ephrata.

E. Pearl (Petersheim) Good Zook, 87, formerly of Bowmansville and Terre Hill, died Dec. 7 as a result of a stroke. She partnered with her husband Leon in the floor covering business for 28 years. Among her interests were spending time with her family, bowling, making porcelain dolls, ceramics, painting and going to sewing circle at her church.

Frederick D. Pontz III, 81, Army vet, musician, worked in poultry industry, animal lover

Frederick D. Pontz III, 81, of Ephrata, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Akron to the late Frederick D. and Rhoda (Henry) Pontz Jr.

Fred enjoyed music all of his life and as a young boy routinely played “Taps” on his trumpet for fallen World War II servicemen during their funerals. He served his country honorably in the Counter Intelligence Corps of the U.S. Army after World War II. He was stationed in post-war Japan. In his early adult life he was active in the local Masonic Lodge where he played trombone in the string band.

Fred spent most of his business career in the local poultry industry working in sales and marketing. Over the years he was active in local bowling leagues and enjoyed golf. He also enjoyed motorcycling. In his later life his music passion moved him to the organ. His father passed on to him his love of animals, which he in turn passed on to his children. The Pontz family had strong ties to local humane leagues and animal shelters.

Frederick is survived by son: Mark, husband of Jayne Pontz; two daughters: Leslie A. Pontz of Fort Meade, Md.; Kimberly L., wife of Jeff McDonnell; five grandchildren: Luke A. Pontz, Paul A. Pontz, Jordan McDonnell, Lisa McDonnell, Amber McDonnell; one great-granddaughter: Lallie Joy McDonell.

Services and interment will be private.

Bernie P. Mack, 95, of Ephrata, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2015, with family by his side.

He was born in Lehigh County. Bernie was a veteran of World War II, sergeant in the Army Air Forces, and participated in the CBI Campaign in India.

Bernie worked as a machinist at Ephrata Tool and Die. He was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, and flying remote control planes with the Cocalico Propbusters. He loved spending time at his cabin and fishing for salmon in Oregon. He was well known as a storyteller with a great sense of humor.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 72 years: Jean; his daughters: Judy Hoff and Sue Gaulke; grandchildren: Alison, Matt, Andy, Lindsey, and Lauren; and great-grandchildren: Emily, Zach, Luke, Isabelle, Julia, and Beck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata. A private burial will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Rufus K. Burkholder, 88, WWII vet, Burkholder’s Potato Chips, grocery store owner

Rufus K. Burkholder, 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at Luther Acres.

He was the husband of the late Marian Stoner Burkholder. He was the son of the late Clayton N. and A. Laura Kline Burkholder.

Born in Farmersville, Rufus graduated from Brownstown High School. He and his wife owned and operated the former Burkholder’s Grocery Store from 1950 through 1960. Following in the footsteps of his father’s family business, he and Marian also owned and operated the former Burkholder’s Potato Chips in Lititz from 1964 to 1972. He then went to work for Woodstream in the shipping department and after 16 years retired in 1988. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during World War II.

Rufus had been a very special Luther Acres volunteer for 19 years. He quietly and without fanfare bound up all newspapers and magazines on campus on a daily basis before it became too difficult. He was a member of the Lititz American Legion Post No. 56, was an avid fan of all the Philadelphia teams, watching baseball, playing cards, including bridge and poker, and at one time enjoyed bowling.

He is lovingly survived by his family of three daughters: Susan B. Beccone; Marie B., wife of Thomas A. Ridder; and Barbara Ann, wife of Michael D. Shotzberger, all of Lititz; five grandchildren: Michael Landis; Bethany, wife of Tim Leister; Timothy Shotzberger; Koren, wife of Barry Adomnik; and Gabe Bushong; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Ray K. Burkholder.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Richard D. Bair, 63, Terre Hill, self-employed painter, enjoyed hunting and fishing

Richard D. Bair, 63, of Terre Hill, passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, after a brief illness.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John R. and Carolyn F. (Railing) Bair.

Richard was a self-employed painter. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Richard is survived by two children: Brent M. Bair, husband of Elizabeth (Hilbert), of Terre Hill; and Krista L. Houck of Leola; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Dec. 7 at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, with Pastor Keith MacDougall officiating.

Irwin S. Fetter Jr., 87, Denver, Korea vet, worked at F and M Hat, enjoyed biking

Irwin S. Fetter Jr., 87, a lifelong resident of the Denver area, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in West Cocalico Township to the late Irwin S. Sr. and Edith (Kercher) Fetter.

He enjoyed bicycle riding and working crossword puzzles. Irwin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In his working years, Irwin was a machine operator for F and M Hat.

Irwin is survived by two brothers: William, husband of Sylvia Fetter, of Denver; and Paul, husband of Dawn Fetter, of Brownstown; and a sister: Marie Kopf of Lancaster.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Robert M. Jones, 85, Ephrata, Air Force vet, IBM, liquor store retiree, active at OMPH

Robert M. Jones, 85, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, Dec.1, 2015, at Ephrata Manor.

Robert was married to the late Nannette B. (Brown) Jones, who passed away in 2002; and was a son of the late Schuyler Hart Jones and Gladys (Crittenden) Jones.

He is survived by a brother: Don, of White Plains, N.Y.; and a daughter: Gloria Covington, of Chester. He is mourned by many friends and relatives.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sisters: Betty Duncan and Frances Jones; and stepsons: Charles and Richard Anderson.

Bob graduated with honors from Centerville High School in 1949. He had a full scholarship to St. Joseph’s College and spent one year in the seminary. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1959 and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He retired from IBM as a customer engineer and also retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Store in Ephrata. Bob was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Ephrata for 30 years and was active in The Yearling’s senior group at OMPH for 13 years. Bob was an avid reader and enjoyed music.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata. Final commendation and farewell will be held at Mount Lawn Cemetery in Philadelphia at the convenience of the family.

Tyler L. Spohn, 28, Ephrata, LCCTC grad, worked at Spring Glen Fresh Food, loving father

Tyler L. Spohn, 28, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount. Joy.

He was the husband of Christina A. (Wallace) Spohn and father of Isabella L. Spohn.

Tyler is also survived by his father: Barry Spohn, husband of Sharleen Spohn, of Ephrata; his mother, Kathrine MacFeat of Manheim; brother: Ronald H. Spohn, husband of Vivian A. Spohn, of Lancaster; niece: Marleigh Tyler Spohn, on the way; paternal grandmother: Barbara, wife of Joseph Smith Jr., of Ephrata; maternal grandparents: Martin H. McWilliams Jr. and Grace E. McWilliams, of Lititz; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tyler was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Ronald S. Spohn.

Tyler was born in Ephrata and was a lifetime resident. He graduated from the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center in Brownstown with a degree in plumbing and was last employed at Spring Glen Fresh Foods in Ephrata. Tyler was a loving husband and father and will be missed by his family and many friends.

A viewing will be held at Paul L. Gravenor Home for Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata, on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow, with Pastor Gordon Mcilroy officiating. Place of interment will be Brownstown Evangelical Cemetery.

Ronald J. Fasnacht, 79, Ephrata, Korea vet, Lukens worker, NLC Fish and Game leader

Ronald “Blackie” J. Fasnacht, 79, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Elmer and Luella (Ruth) Fasnacht and was the husband of Betty J. (Ludwig) Fasnacht.

He was a member of Cloister Post No. 3376 VFW, Ephrata American Legion Cloister Post No. 429, lifetime member of the Northern Lancaster County Fish and Game, where he held several leadership positions. Ronald went to school in the Ephrata School District, fought in the Korean War as a U.S. Marine and worked as a tester in the metallurgic test lab at Lukens Steel Mill. He enjoyed nature, bluegrass music, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by six children: Charles Ludwig of Tucson, Ariz.; Bruce, husband of Jane (Horst) Fasnacht, of Lancaster; Kim Zimmerman of Lancaster; Lisa, wife of Bruce Butler, of Denver; David Fasnacht of Ephrata; Ronald, husband of Deb (Martin) Fasnacht, of Ephrata; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Vivian Crowther; and a brother: C. Eugene Fasnacht.

Services were held Dec. 8 at Stradling Funeral Home, Ephrata, with Pastor Jeff Martin officiating. Interment took place in the Millbach Community Cemetery.

Harry A. Yochum, 61, of Akron, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Dallas, Texas, to the late William and Ann (Prasse) Goodnough. He was the husband of Melinda S. (Myers) Yochum; they would have been married for 37 years on Dec. 16.

Harry was a veteran who fought in the Vietnam War as a security police officer in the Air Force. He also worked as a police officer for the Boroughs of Lititz and Ephrata until he retired. After retirement, he worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and then retired at the age of 60. Harry was an avid sports fan, loved to travel, and enjoyed fine dining.

In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by brother: William Yochum of New Cumberland; three sisters-in-law: Diane Myers, Lynn Myers, and Julie Law.

Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.

Dale W. Sigman, 67, of Ephrata, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the Lebanon V.A. Hospital.

He was married 45 years to Bonnie Shay Sigman. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Kathryn Shissler Sigman, who died in 2010.

Dale retired from the United States Postal Service in 2003 where he had been employed for 34 years. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time at his cabin in Lycoming County. Dale was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969.

Surviving besides his wife is a son: Drew Sigman, husband of Allison Miller Sigman of Leola; a brother: Douglas A. Sigman, companion of Lana Boyd of Millertown; and a sister: Donna Cook, companion of Jim Pantoni New Cumberland.

Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Judith “Judy” L. Herr, 75, of Akron, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Lancaster to the late Arthur Lemon and Mary H. (Hogarth) Lemon Hamlin and was the wife of the late John Herr.

She was a member of the Ephrata Church of the Brethren and the Riverside Club. She enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR, and the Dallas Cowboys. Judith worked for the Miller Hess & Eby Shoe Companies, Sears in Lancaster, and was last employed at Bright’s Restaurant in Ephrata, prior to retirement.

Judith is survived by a daughter: Joy L., wife of Norman Huhen, of Manheim; three grandchildren: Adrian Huhen of East Petersburg, Brendan and Brianna Huhen of Manheim; great-granddaughter: Parker Joy Huhen; two nephews: David Lemon of Manheim and Robert Lemon of Denver; two nieces: Shari Wolfe of Mechanicsburg and Tina Lemon of Lancaster.

In addition to her parents and husband, Judith is preceded in death by a brother: Arthur P. Lemon, Jr.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Dec.16, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth St., Akron, followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tom Weber officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.

J. Richard Wise, 97, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at Ephrata Manor.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Jacob and Vera Jeanette (Killian) Wise, and was the husband of the late Lorraine E. (Wingenroth) Wise.

He graduated from Ephrata High School, was a member of Bethany UCC and a former member of Ephrata VFW Post. In his early years, Richard worked for Sears and was a former postman for the Ephrata area until his retirement in 1980. Richard served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war in the Battle of the Bulge.

J. Richard is survived by son: Kevin Wise of Ephrata; two nieces: Carol, wife of Milt Horst; and Pat Carbone, all of Maryland.

A viewing will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, followed by his funeral service at 2 p.m., with William J. LaSalle officiating. Interment will take place in the Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.

Gerald R. Leisey Sr., 80, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at his home.

He was the loving husband of Eva K. (Brooks) Leisey for 61 years, and was the son of the late Martin and Elizabeth (Lutz) Leisey.

In addition to his wife, Eva; Gerald is survived by six children: Rick Leisey; Gerald Leisey Jr., husband of Joann; Tina M. Leisey; Cindy Dutill; Daryl Leisey, all of Ephrata; and David J. Leisey, husband of Wendy, of Lititz; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Gerald had worked for the Borough of Ephrata, Bollman Hat Company in Adamstown, and most recently the former Donecker’s in Ephrata. He was a former member of the Pioneer Fire Company in Ephrata and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Services were held Dec. 14 at Paul L. Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata, with Pastor Tom Heinnlein officiating. Place of interment will be Memory Gardens, East Cocalico Township.

Norman W. Hoover, 81, of Reinholds, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Edwin and Ella (Weaver) Hoover and was the husband of the late Erma B. (Wise) Hoover.

He was a member of the Cocalico Mennonite Church and worked as a self-employed farmer.

Norman is survived by four sons: Harlan, husband of Kathryn (Good) Hoover of Oley; Curvin, husband of Delphine (Martin) Hoover, of Manheim; Steven, husband of Lavina (Weaver) Hoover, of Neillsville, Wisc.; Glenn, husband of Earline (Oberholtzer) Hoover, of Reinholds; five daughters: Eleanor Hoover, Laura Mae Hoover, Marie Hoover, and Helen Hoover, all of Reinholds, Nancy, wife of Mervin Oberholtzer, of Colby, Wisc.; 35 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother: Edwin Hoover of Ephrata; two sisters-in-law: Mary (wife of the late Eli Hoover), Katie (wife of the late Aaron Hoover); and two sisters: Emma Hoover and Esther Hoover, both of Ephrata.

In addition to his parents and wife, Norman is preceded in death by a grandchild: Willard Hoover; four brothers: Menno, Eli, Phares, and Aaron Hoover; and two sisters: Anna Hoover and Mary Stauffer.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, 210 E. Lexington Road, Lititz. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 17, at 8:45 a.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, with further services at 9:30 a.m., from the Springville Mennonite Church, 580 Springville Road, Ephrata, with Bishop Melvin Martin officiating. Becky S. Fisher, five months old, of 665 Sunnyside Road, Ephrata, a special child, passed away at home Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, of natural causes.

Born in Ephrata, she was the infant daughter of Eli B. and Malinda Stoltzfus Fisher and attended the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents are four siblings: Barbie S., Ruth S., Lydia S., and Eli B. Fisher Jr., all at home; maternal grandparents: Jacob F. and Rachel Stoltzfus Stoltzfus of Leola; paternal grandparents: Stephen S. and Lydia Stoltzfus Fisher of Oxford, paternal great-grandmother: Malinda K. Stoltzfus of Bird-in-Hand; maternal step-great-grandmother: Annie Stoltzfus of Myerstown.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: David S. and Michael S. Fisher.

Services were held Dec. 11 at the deceased’s home. She was interred in Upper Millcreek Cemetery, Leola.
