Florence Kametz, 69, Denver, ECH retiree, attended, active at OMPH, Ecuadent volunteer

Florence Kametz, 69, of Denver, passed away with her son and daughter by her side, Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

She was the wife of the late Richard Kametz, who died in February 2013. Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Wachter) Bambrick.

Florence was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and Thompson College. She had worked in the office of Harold G. Herr, DDS, and was a member of Ecuadent, a volunteer medical/dental group working with indigent children in Ecuador. She was retired from Ephrata Hospital. She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she had served as an officer in Sodality, a representative to Church Women United, and taught CCD classes for many years.

She is survived by a daughter: Meredith Kametz of Denver; and a son: Brent, husband of Adrienne (Gemmell) Kametz; two grandchildren: Lydia and Penn; four sisters: Ann, wife of Harold Witmer of Lancaster and Kansas City; Mary, wife of Peter Rohrer of Lakewood, Colo.; Emily, wife of John Hertzler of Akron; and Joan Shissler of Lancaster.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother: Harry Bambrick.

Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, March 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 12, at 11 a.m., at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, 320 Church Ave, Ephrata, with Father Tom Siconolfi C.SS.R. as celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell will be private at the convenience of the family.

Yvonne Sensenig, 92, Akron, WWII USO member, long-time hairdresser, enjoyed beach trips

Yvonne Sensenig, 92 (or 39, as she would say), of Akron, passed away March 1, 2015, at the Ephrata Community Hospital.

Yvonne was a lifelong resident of Akron, where she was a hair dresser for more than 50 years. She was also a lifetime member of the Akron Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. During World War II, she was a member of the USO. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling, dancing, roller skating, and playing the marimba.

She always liked to be where the action was. Yvonne enjoyed playing bingo and going on bus trips with the Golden Years Club. She loved going to the shore with her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Yvonne was a loving mother to: Sharon Czabafy, wife of Peter Czabafy. Sharon and Peter took incredible care of Yvonne in her golden years. She was a loving grandmother to four lucky people: Michael Cahill, husband of Jennifer Cahill of Akron; Tim Cahill, husband of Corinne Cahill of Ephrata; Karen Walters, wife of Corey Walters of Denver; and Shannon Reynolds, wife of David Reynolds of Parkesburg. She had eight great-grandchildren who gave her joy each day: Brandon Cahill, Matthew and Gordon Cahill; Brianna Jones; Austin Burkholder; Ryan Reynolds: and Karli and Dawson Walters. She would’ve become a great-great-grandmother in June. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Sadie and Emery Strohm; a son: Bruce Sensenig; two sisters: Ethel Balmer and Irene Shirk; and two brothers: Emery Strohm Jr. and Luke Strohm.

Yvonne was an inspiration to many. She was always cheerful and full of life. She was one of the most active 90-something year-old women you’d ever meet. She touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten by the ones she touched.

Services were held March 6 at Akron Church of the Brethren, Akron, with Pastor Tom Weber officiating. Interment was in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.

Matthew T. Ovensen, 40, Ephrata native, EHS grad, enjoyed soccer, hiking, skiing

Matthew T. Ovensen, 40, of Lancaster County, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2015.

Born and raised in Ephrata, he was the son of Tina and Albert Ovensen.

Matthew graduated from Ephrata High School. He also attended the Pennsylvania State and Millersville universities. He was baptized and grew up within the Lutheran church. Matthew loved soccer, Eagles football, fishing, hiking, snow skiing, water skiing, and just spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his parents: Al and Tina Ovensen; a daughter: Destiny Stauffer Ovensen; a sister: Ashley, spouse of Ryan White; paternal grandfather: Reynold Ovensen; aunts: Juanita Kissinger, Vickie Kissinger, and Linda Vereidi; uncles: Kevin Vereidi and Dean Kissinger; cousins: Melanie, Amy, Angie, Kaia, and Carrie.

He was predeceased by the love of his life: Nicole “Sunshine” Stauffer; maternal grandparents: Lloyd and Nancy Kissinger; as well as paternal grandmother: Betty Ovensen; and uncle: Robert Kissinger.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at Bergstrasse Lutheran Church, 9 Hahnstown Road, Ephrata, on Saturday, March 14, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Herbert Lohr. Interment will be private at the family’s convenience.

James Irwin ‘Jim’ Sell, 70, Ephrata, Vietnam vet, L-S H.S. custodian, enjoyed boat carving

James Irwin “Jim” Sell, 70, of Ephrata, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015.

He was the husband of Judy A. Grill Sell. They were married for 50 years this past September. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Irwin and Irene K. Schwartz Sell.

A 1963 graduate of Garden Spot High School, Mr. Sell worked for Lawrence Industries in North Carolina and was a custodian at Lampeter-Strasburg High School. A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1963 through 1967. Jim attended Manheim Mennonite Church. He enjoyed gardening and carving wooden boats.

He is also survived by a son: Matthew James Sell, at home; a grandson: Garrett Isley; a son-in-law: Randy Isley, Burlington, N.C.; a brother: J. Arthur, married to Susanne Sell, Ephrata.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Louisa Ann Isley; a brother: James Robert Sell; and a sister: Betty Jane Stoltzfus.

A memorial service was held March 7 at Manheim Mennonite Church.

Rev. Blair W. Nixdorf, 77, Denver, ECH chaplain, ministered at nursing homes, rescue missions

Rev. Blair W. Nixdorf, 77, of Denver, went to be with the lord, Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.

He was born in Clearfield County to the late Walter V. Nixdorf and Adriana Ione (Ferguson) and was the husband of Grace I., (Clair) Nixdorf. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 11, 2015.

Blair started his ministry in nursing homes and rescue missions. He later became head of Men’s Ministry at Lancaster Rescue Missions, director of the Allentown Rescue Mission, served as chaplain for Lehigh Valley Hospital, Ephrata Hospital and the Allentown Police Department. He also served at various churches throughout the area and served in the US National Guard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Barbara A., wife of Kenneth Deuel; Susan E. wife of John Eichelberger; Michael Blair, husband of Vicki Nixdorf; Mary Grace Parsons; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: David Nixdorf; and three siblings: Nona Bloom, Kirk Richter and Robert Nixdorf.

A memorial service was held March 7 at Ephrata Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Kenneth Higginbotham officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Betty Weaver Law, 58, Schwenksville, worked at Weaver’s Store, for Visiting Angels

Betty Weaver Law, 58, of Schwenksville, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville after a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer.

Her husband, Greg survives. They celebrated 10 years of marriage this past September.

Born in Fivepointvillle, she was the daughter of C. Irvin and E. Ruth (Hurst) Weaver of Fivepointvillle.

Betty worked part-time in the family business, Weaver’s Store Inc. and for Visiting Angels. She was a member of Frederick Mennonite Church. She will be remembered as a woman who loved her family, helping them in any way she could. She encouraged many others by praying with them and challenging them to live for Jesus.

Betty served others in many ways over years, including teaching Sunday school, cooking at Camp Andrews, teaching school in Georgia and working at Faith Mission Home in Virginia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by seven siblings: Janet, married to Lowell Sensenig, Adamstown; Mel, married to Jeanette, Mohnton; Irvin Jr., married to Karen, Fivepointvillle; Ruth Ann, widow of Daniel Wile, Fivepointville; Ray, married to Marilyn, Gouglersville; Doris, married to Glenn Wile, Linville, Va.; and Nelson, married to Melanie, Denver.

Her funeral will be held Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at the Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Road, Ephrata, with Grant Price and Ben Stoltzfus officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mary E. Page, 89, Lebanon, was floor lady at Batdorf Shoe Co. for 40 years

Mary E. Page, 89, formerly of Schaefferstown, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Cedar Haven, Lebanon.

She was the wife of the late Richard R. Page who died in July 1956. She was born in Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County, on Feb. 4, 1926, a daughter of the late Harvey and Rebecca Ream Stohler.

Mary was employed for over 40 years as a floor lady for the Batdorf Shoe Company in Ephrata. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kleinfeltersville and VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Adamstown since 1988.

She is survived by a daughter: Judith, wife of Larry Vindich of Schaefferstown; grandson: Jason, husband of Mary Vindich of N.C.; great-grandchildren: Matthew and Sasha Vindich; sister: Beatrice Strickler of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by a grandson: Larry (J.R.) Vindich.

Funeral service will be held March 20 at 2:30 p.m. in the Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be made in the Millbach Cemetery.

Alice E. Martin, 90, Ephrata, domestic housekeeper, Weaverland Menn. Church member

Alice E. Martin, 90, of Ephrata, formerly of Leola, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, after a lengthy illness.

Born in East Earl Township, she was the daughter of the late Harvey H. and Margaret (Esbenshade) Martin.

Alice worked as a domestic housekeeper for various households in the area. She was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church.

Surviving are two brothers: Elmer E., married to Grace (Weaver) Martin of Blue Ball; and Carl E., married to Arlene (Snader) Martin of New Holland; a sister-in-law: Mildred (Weaver) Martin of East Earl; and nine nieces and nephews, whom she enjoyed so much.

Preceding her in death is a brother: LeRoy E. Martin.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Fairmount Homes for the wonderful help given to Alice over the years.

Services were held March 13 at Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel, Ephrata, with Rev. C. Kenneth Martin and Rev. Clair Martin officiating. Private interment will be in Goodville Mennonite Cemetery.

Catherine A. Kline, 82, Denver, retired from Cinderella Knitting Mills, loved to crochet

Catherine A. Kline, 82, of Denver, formerly of Mohnton, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Denver Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Reading to John Lawrence and Dolly (Sweezey) Wails and was the wife of Clarence A. Kline, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Catherine was a member of Mohn’s Hill Memorial E.C. Church. She retired from the Cinderella Knitting Mills, Denver, and she had also worked at the Bollman Hat Co., Adamstown. She loved to crochet.

In addition to her husband, Catherine is survived by three children: Donna M., wife of Kenneth R. Weber of Reamstown; Larry A. Kline of Myerstown; and Dolly M., wife of Ed Horst of McClure; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: John Martin Wails and David Wails, both of West Lawn.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 20, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Mohn’s Hill Memorial E.C. Church, 708 Mohn’s Hill Road, Berks County. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Martin officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Ethel Taylor Boland, 90, Ephrata, supervisor at Sears, accomplished cook and seamstress

Ethel Taylor Boland, 90, of Ephrata formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Ephrata Manor, her home for the last five months.

She was born Dec. 7, 1924 in Altoona, the daughter of Samuel M. and Lauretta (Shaffer) Taylor. Ethel married Francis E. Boland on May 28, 1955 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. Upon Francis’ passing in 2007, Ethel moved to The Groves Retirement Home in Ephrata, which is owned by her son.

Ethel was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and a graduate of Zeth Business School. Ethel worked in accounting for GMAC and Sears in Altoona. In 1960 Ethel took a leave from her career and stayed home to raise her young family. Ethel returned to her career with Sears in 1968. After more than 30 years of service she retired in 1985 as the first female supervisor of the service/parts department. After moving to The Groves at the age of 82, Ethel became active in assisting her son with the operation of the business.

Ethel enjoyed needlework and reading. She was an accomplished cook, seamstress, April 1st prankster, and she was the family’s master Christmas stocking crocheter. She and Francis loved traveling, their dogs, and most importantly, their children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her children; Susan Zimmerman and husband Jay, of Bellefonte; Chris Hackenberg and husband, Tom of Richmond, Va.; and David Boland of Lancaster. Ethel was also the “adopted” mom to Jim Brown of Lancaster. She was the beloved “Mee-Maw” to: Katelyn Ziolkowski, and husband Paul; Britt Mantiply, and husband Matt, and cherished great-granddaughter; Nora; Alexandra Wagner and husband, Matt; Madison and Cassidy Hackenberg; and Jayme and Jayson Zimmerman. She is also survived by numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Ethel was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Francis, and her siblings: H. Samuel and wife, Marjorie; Francis and wife, Miriam; Daisy; and Lauretta and husband, Ed Fay.

The family wants to send a special thanks to all the staff at Ephrata Manor and The Groves for the loving care Ethel received over the past several years. Ethel truly loved and cherished each staff person who assisted her. To love and be loved is a life well lived.

Funeral services were held March 15, with burial the following day in Alto-Reste Cemetery, Altoona.

Ronald J. Rettew, 67, Ephrata, USMC Vietnam vet, Hillyard Service Systems technician

Ronald J. Rettew, 67, of Ephrata passed away at Ephrata Community Hospital following a lengthy illness, March 6, 2015.

The son of the late Lester and Anna Mary Herr Rettew, he was born in Brickerville at Elizabeth Farms.

Ron served in the United States Marine Corps and is a Vietnam veteran. A service technician, he retired from Hillyard Service Systems Inc. in Lancaster

He was a member of the Ephrata VFW Cocalico Post 3376, Ephrata AMVETS Post 136, Ephrata American Legion Post 429, Cocalico Sportsman’s Association, Adamstown Rod & Gun Club, and the Elstonville Sportsmans Club.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a passion for walkabouts, traveling much of the United States on foot. Ron was known to be a great storyteller and kept journals of his many adventures, especially fishing.

Ron liked to spend time with friends telling stories and had a special relationship with Amber Schwartz, her children Carter, Avery, and Sheena Pickel, and Sheena’s daughter Collette.

Ron is survived by his sons: Donald Dale Rettew, husband of Bobbi Jo, Dalton, Ga.; Chad Geist, Ephrata; daughter: Stephannie Ernest, Mount Joy; siblings: Erla, wife of Gene Fetty, New Holland; Robert Rettew, husband of Jeanette, Brigham City, Utah; Mabel Goslin, West Chester; Linda, wife of Edward Lash, Ephrata; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Saudia Rettew; and sisters: Arlene Shank, Nancy Sweigart, and Dorothy Rettew.

Natalia H. Wyniawskyj, 86, Ephrata, mother of three, co-owned Natalia Motel in Lehighton

Natalia H. Wyniawskyj, 86, a resident of Fairmount Homes in Ephrata, formerly of Terre Hill and Lehighton, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015, after a lengthy illness.

Her husband, the late Zynowij Wyniawskyj, passed away March 2, 1997. They were married for 41 years. Born in Kalisz, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Josephine (Stanoch) Drobitun.

She and her late husband owned and operated the Natalia Motel in Lehighton for many years before retiring in 1982. Natalia will be lovingly missed by her family and friends.

Natalia is survived by three sons: Richard W., husband of Donna E. (Hulsizer) Wyniawskyj of Charlevoix, Mich.; George, husband of Sherry (Huntington) Wyniawskyj of Oley; and Woldoymyr, husband of Mary (Sweigart) Wyniawskyj of Reinholds; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Walter Drobitun.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Andriy Rabiy at the Nativity of BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church, Reading, on March 16. She was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata.

Warren J. Nelson, 86, Ephrata, WWII vet, retired banker, cat lover, furniture designer

Warren J. Nelson, 86, of Ephrata, formerly of Bay Shore, Long Island, N.Y., passed away Friday, March 13, 2015, at Maple Farm in Akron.

A native New Yorker, Warren began his career as a private first class in the Army during World War II. He was recently indoctrinated in to the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, La. Upon completion of his service duties, he began a banking career that spanned more than 35 years, holding various positions from manager to vice president, retiring as regional vice president for Irving Trust.

He had numerous community ties on Long Island, N.Y., as a member of the Lions Club, various United Funds, and director of the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Steering Committee of the Suffolk County Council Boy Scouts of America. He continued his community ties as member and usher for the Ephrata Church of the Nazarene as well as being an active supporter of the Humane Society, indicative of his love for his own cats, pets he adored.

Warren’s favorite pastime was designing and structuring furniture. He was a great carpenter. He also enjoyed helping people and socializing. One of his favorite places to visit was Martin’s Country Market which he did each morning. He was a blessed man who brought love and laughter to all his family, extended family (The Fagan Family, whom he treasured), and his friends.

Warren is survived by two daughters: Patricia Nelson of Orlando, Fla.; and Debbie, wife of Joseph Ostraco of Safety Harbor, Fla.; one son: Gary T. Nelson, husband of Mary, of Largo, Fla.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Alberta Liddle of Naples, Fla.

Warren was preceded in death by his wife: Dolores C. (VanSise) Nelson; son: Glen Nelson; longtime loving friend: Barbara Fagan; a brother: Charles Nelson; and a sister: Joan Beckers.

Friends will be received at Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, 100 W. Main St. Ephrata, on Thursday, March 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, March 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at Gravenor’s, with the Rev. Kenneth Higginbotham officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Donna E. Sheehan, 62, of Ephrata, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Ephrata to Gerrie (Reber) Brown and the late Clyde L. Brown. She was the wife of the late Kenneth J. Sheehan who passed in away in 2014.

Donna was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She was a 1970 graduate of Ephrata High School and attended Eastern Nazarene College. She worked as a bookkeeper for PAI Corp. until her retirement. She was a former Boy Scout den mother and enjoyed rubber stamping.

Services were held March 13 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Ephrata, with Father Tom Siconolfi C.SS.R. as celebrant. Final Farewell and Commendation took place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

M. Joyce James, 72, of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Reinholds, daughter of the late Amos M. and Alda G. (Donmoyer) Nolt.

Joyce was an animal lover. During high school, she raised a champion baby beef for the Ephrata Farm Show. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, landscaping, and was known for creating a delightful light display every Christmas. Joyce was the district manager at Valley View Mobile Home Park for more than 20 years.

She is survived by one daughter: Karen Plowman of Lancaster; three sons: Curtis James of Carlisle; Bryan James, husband of Holly, of Spring Grove; and John James of Ephrata; one granddaughter; four grandsons; one sister: Betty J. Gross of Brickerville; and two brothers: Bill Nolt of Walton, Calif.; and James Nolt of Lancaster.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, 201 Crescent Ave., Ephrata, on Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m.

Albert A. Rosati, 88, Stevens, WWII vet, controller for Conrail-Amtrak, enjoyed model RRs

Albert A. Rosati, 88, of Stevens, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was the husband of Paula A. (Deneve) Rosati and son of the late Thomas and Adeline (Grundine) Rosati.

Albert was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Ephrata, and was a retired controller for Conrail-Amtrak.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was the last survivor of the SS W.C. Latta crew. Albert enjoyed model railroading with HO scale trains.

In addition to his wife, Paula, Albert is survived by two daughters: Adeline, wife of Ken Blaylock of Shelby, Ala.; and Mary Linda Rosati of Mansfield, Ohio; one son: Thomas Rosati, husband of Cheryl, of Reamstown; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his sister: Mary Paulovic.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 4075 Derry St., Harrisburg,

Ruth Ann Sweigart, 74, formerly of Denver, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Golden Living Center of Lancaster.

She was born in Denver to the late William B. and Katie (Engle) Sweigart, and was one of six children.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Denver, and an active member of the Cocalico Senior Center.

Helen M. Gentile, 99, formerly of Denver and Philadelphia, died March 22, 2015 in Zerbe Sisters Nursing Centre, Narvon.

Born in Thornbury Township, Delaware County, she was a daughter of the late Colinine and Libreta (Mortricordi) Merenti. Her husband, Guido J. Gentile, died in 1992.

Helen was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata, attended the Cocalico Area Senior Center, Reinholds, and was a seamstress.

Surviving is a son: Anthony J. (Mariann DiSimone) Gentile, Denver; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Christian Prayer Services will be held Friday, March 27, at 7 p.m. from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Father John McLoughlin, C.SS.R. There will be no viewing.

Reed E. Gehr, 60, Ephrata, equipment operator at Burkholder Paving, outdoorsman

Reed E. Gehr, 60, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at his residence.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Arthur and Carolyn (Steinmetz) Gehr and was the husband of Yvonne D. (Ruhl) Gehr with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.

Reed worked as an equipment operator for Burkholder Paving until his retirement in 2010. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycling, antique cars, visiting his camp along the Juniata River, was an avid Steelers fan and in his early years, bowling. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Jeff Strama of Ephrata; a daughter: Tangelena, wife of Shaun McMahon, of Royersford; five grandchildren: Kelvin Cruz, Simeon Taylor, Lexi and Kaelyn McMahon, Jayce Gehr-McMahon; a brother: Ronald, husband of Vivian Gehr of Stevens; and a sister: Rhonda, wife of Nevin Haller of Ephrata.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Zeb Reed Gehr and Reed Ryan Gehr.

Services were held March 21 at Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ephrata, with Pastor Herbert A. Lohr officiating. Interment was in the Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery.
