Amos H. Hoover, 59, East Earl, farmer, father of 12, Black Creek Mennonite Church member

Amos H. Hoover, 59, of East Earl, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

His wife, Grace H. (Martin) Hoover, survives. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Amos and Lydia (Nolt) Hoover.

Amos was a farmer and a member of Black Creek Mennonite Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are 11 children: Charlene M. Hoover, at home; Leon M. Hoover, Denver; Jane married to Amos Hoover, East Earl; Martha, married to Andrew Martin, Denver; Chester married to Katie Hoover, East Earl; Rachel M. Hoover, Denver; Wilson M. Hoover, at home; Marian M. Hoover, Denver; Mahlon M. Hoover; Eli M. Hoover; Grace M. Hoover, all at home; seven grandchildren; 15 siblings: Alma Hoover, Kentucky; Ada Reiff, New Holland; Emma Martin, Ephrata; Mary Hoover, East Earl; Martha Hoover, Kentucky; Isaac Hoover, New Holland; James Hoover, Ephrata; Jonas Hoover, New Holland; John Hoover, Kentucky; Paul Hoover, Stevens; Lydia Hoover; Linda Hoover; Leon Hoover; Lloyd Hoover; Lester Hoover, all of New Holland; and a sister-in-law: Lucy Hoover, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by a daughter: Malinda Hoover; and a brother: Daniel Hoover.

His funeral will be held on Friday, Jan 4, at noon at his late home, with further services at 1 p.m. at Reidenbach Mennonite Church with Bishop Nathan Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at his late home on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.

Dawn Louise Fetter, 81, Denver H.S. grad, Landis Valley worker, enjoyed astronomy, traveling

Dawn Louise Fetter, 81, of Brownstown, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.

She was born in The Stephen Memorial Hospital in Ephrata to the late Winifred C. (Crossan) and Folklorist John B. Brendel, and was the wife of Paul L. Fetter, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Dawn enjoyed reading, puzzles, antiquing, bird and animal watching. She was a regular astronomer who could be seen weekends at Middle Creek. She also loved to travel extensively throughout the United States and also visited other countries including Ireland, Scotland, and England.

Dawn was a graduate of Denver High School, Class of 1955. She worked as a tour guide, receptionist, and demonstrator of open hearth cooking for Landis Valley Museum for 18 years. She introduced the Belsnickel program, which is still being performed today, and she was a contributor to the Landis Valley cookbook. In the early years, she worked for various sewing factories.

In addition to her husband, Dawn is survived by two sons: Dwane P. (Beth Ann) Fetter, and Dean P. (Faith Elaine) Fetter; and two grandchildren: Amanda K. and Derek P. Fetter.

At Dawn’s request, there will be no visitation.

Mary M. Cooper, 62, Acme retiree, had strong faith, enjoyed fishing, helping the elderly

Mary M. Cooper, 62, of Denver passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lexington, Ky., she was the daughter of the late June and Anna Mae (Smith) Church. She was the loving wife of Rick Rightmire Jr., with whom she shared 30 years together.

Mary had just recently retired from Acme where she was the lead utility worker in the transportation department. She was loved by all she worked with during her 11 years she was working at Acme.

She was a firm believer in God and it was shown by the way she treated everyone. She especially enjoyed helping elderly people. Mary enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing alongside Rick. She also enjoyed working on cars and renovating anything in a home. She was a jack of all trades.

In addition to Rick, she is survived by her son: Jonathan E. Smathers, husband of Jennifer of Denver; daughter: Dream Hall of Welston, Ohio; stepdaughter: Tanya Rightmire of Blue Rapids, Kansas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Leiana, Roman, Ethan, Nathan, Chasity, Selena, Patricia; five great-grandchildren; a sister: Linda Nichols, wife of Jim of Welston, Ohio; two nieces: Sharon and Melissa; and tons of adopted family.

She was preceded in death by her son: Henry Isaac Smathers.

A celebration of Mary’s Life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Guests should dress casually.

Elsie Rosella Heck, 91, of Denver, passed away on Dec. 24, 2018 at home, where she resided with her daughter, Anita, and granddaughter, Kelly.

Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Kathryn (Sandoe) Boley.

Elsie, a.k.a. “Sis,” retired from Frank Ix & Son’s Silk Mill. She was a member of Bridgeville E.C. Church, Narvon. Sis enjoyed crocheting, canning, and had a passion for card games and board games. Her family and grandchildren were the light of her life and all were her “favorites.”

Surviving are five children: Joe Reeder, Sharon Beiler, Anita Fasnacht, Allen Fasnacht and Leon Earl Fasnacht; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Edith Blessing, Charlotte Samuels, Laura Gunzenhauser, Raymond Boley and Sylvia Welsh.

Elsie was preceded in death by siblings: Morris Boley, Grace Buchanan, Janet Englerth, Freddie Boley, Alton Boley and Wilson Boley; and by her granddaughter: Stacey Reeder.

A celebration of Elsie’s life will be held at a future date with family.

Mary G. Horst, 89, homemaker, Carter’s outlet worker,enjoyed volunteering, flower gardening

Mary G. Horst, 89, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Lancaster General Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born in Upper Leacock Township to the late Sanford M. and Anna M. (Myers) Groff, and was the wife of the late Harvey M. Horst, Jr., who passed away in 1998.

A member of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, she enjoyed flower gardening and volunteer work for others.

Mary was a homemaker, and in the early years she worked at various sewing factories and the Carter’s outlet in the sock department.

Mary is survived by a daughter: Linda, wife of Terry A. Young of Ephrata; two grandsons: Daniel R. (Abi) Young of Sinking Spring; and David M. (Erin) Young of Lancaster; four great-grandchildren: Ella, Elizabeth, Louis and Charlotte Young; and two sisters-in-law: Irene Groff of Leola, and Paula Groff of Strasburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Chester Groff, Elmer Groff, and Sanford Groff Jr.; and a sister-in-law: Lena Groff.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., with Rev. John Hess and Rev. Paul Brubaker officiating. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family would like to extend a deep appreciation to the staff at Fairmount Homes, for their kindness and care of Mary during her stay.

Lucas Allen Hess, 37, CHS grad, engineering designer, hot air balloon pilot, loved adventure

Lucas Allen Hess, 37, passed away on Dec. 25, 2018 from a rare form of cancer.

In addition to his wife: Jody (Kurtz) Hess; he is survived by his son: Gabe.

Born in Coaldale to the late Kimberly (Spurigo) Hess and the late Floyd Hess, he was raised by his grandparents: Anthony and Judith (Sotter) Spurigo. In addition to his grandparents, Lucas was always surrounded by his loving and supportive extended family.

Lucas graduated from Cocalico High School and earned an associates degree in CAD from YTI in York. After working as an engineering designer for several years, Lucas’s love of the outdoors enticed him into becoming a hot air balloon pilot. This quickly became one of his life’s passions. He flew an astounding 3,603 flights in his 17-year career. Lucas’s other interests included adventurous family time, cruising, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and playing games with Gabe.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m., with Pastor Roman Hess officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Mildred I. Pfautz, 90, Pfautz Market worker, Sunday school teacher, created ‘pumpkin people’

Mildred I. (Esbenshade) Pfautz, 90, of Stevens, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital, surrounded by her children.

She was born in Earl Township to the late Ross and Barbara (Hollinger) Esbenshade, and was the wife of the late Leroy R. Pfautz, who passed away in 2005.

She was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church, where she taught children’s Sunday school and was on the hospitality and kitchen committee. She would also deliver cards and flowers and visit with shut-ins.

Mildred was a homemaker. She also helped with Pfautz Farm Market and was known as the Pumpkin People Creator. She was a member of the Farm Women’s Society #3 and involved with the PA Relief Sale. She loved to host friends and family and also to bake and decorate cakes.

Mildred is survived by a daughter: Jolynn, wife of Leverne Nolt of Reinholds; four sons: Rick, husband of Sue (Hollingsworth) Pfautz of Lititz; Jeff, husband of Jane (Weaver) Pfautz; Mike, husband of Carolyn (Witmer) Pfautz; Tim, husband of Cheryl (Martin) Pfautz, all of Ephrata; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Arlene Sauder of New Holland.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Clarence Esbenshade.

Services were held Dec. 29 at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Pastor Glenn E. Sauder officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery.

Kim P. Hackman, 62, Diamond Spring, Burkholder driver, liked classic cars, woodworking

Kim P. Hackman, 62, of Leola, passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Donald and Clara (Peachey) Hackman and was the husband of Deborah (Hartranft) Hackman, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage.

Kim was employed as a delivery driver and salesman for Diamond Spring Water for 27 years. He was retired from Burkholder Trucking, where he was a truck driver for 12 years. He loved classic cars, enjoyed woodworking, and especially loved spending time with his grandson Nolan. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog Toby, who will greatly miss him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter: Lindsay, wife of Mark Shenk of Mountville; a son: Kyle, husband of Kimberly (Gibbs) Hackman of Ephrata; a grandson: Nolan Hackman; five siblings: Barry, husband of Dolores Hackman of Oley; Scott, husband of Carole Hackman of Ephrata; Dawn, wife of Roger Spencer of New Holland; James, husband of Kim Hackman of Ephrata; Gina Hackman, wife of the late Douglas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Douglas Hackman.

Services were held Dec. 28 at Stradling Funeral Home, Ephrata. Interment took place in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.

Betty (Rice) Heitz, 89, Rothsville H.S. grad, Hopeland Mfg. worker, mother of three, upbeat

Betty (Rice) Heitz, 89, of Ephrata passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at home.

She was born and raised in Rothsville, and was a proud graduate or Rothsville High School. She was the third of six children born to the late William and Lydia (Buch) Rice. She married the late Richard Heitz in 1949 with whom she enjoyed 63 years of marriage.

She was the mother of three sons and worked for over 25 years at the Hopeland Manufacturing Company. Active in church and Sunday School, through the years Betty sang in the choir, taught children’s Sunday school and was involved for 20 years with the shut-in visitation ministry of Hopeland United Methodist Church.

Always an upbeat person, Betty anxiously awaited her journey to Heaven to see her Lord, her parents, grandparents, her husband, her oldest son, Rick, her sister, Janie, and many friends and relatives.

She is survived by four siblings: Alma Hollingsworth of Lititz; Bill Rice of Lititz; John Rice Ephrata; and Ida Young of Akron; two sons: Kenneth, husband of Lois of Perkasie; and Timothy, husband of Julie of Ephrata. She has five grandchildren: Thomas Heitz of Atlanta, Ga.; Andrew Heitz of Pensacola, Fla.; Karolin, wife of Ryan Kennedy of Ephrata; Brian Heitz, husband of Nicolina of East Earl; and Stefan Heitz of Ephrata. Also surviving her are five great-grandchildren: Olivia Heitz, Jacob Kennedy, Daniel Kennedy, Wesley Kennedy and Hailey Heitz.

A simple graveside service will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Hopeland UMC Cemetery, 295 N. Clay Road, Lititz, with Pastor Russ Eberly officiating.

Ernest H. Aungst, 90, Bethlehem Steel and ENB worker, father of three, talented woodworker

Ernest H. Aungst, 90, of Lititz, and formerly of Ephrata, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Pine Grove, he was the son of the late Nora (Sattizahn) and James Aungst. He was the loving husband to the late Mary (Fox) Aungst for over 64 years.

Ernie retired from Bethlehem Steel after 30 years. After his retirement he worked at Ephrata National Bank for over 15 years. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, was a talented woodworker and was known for his hardworking ethic. Most of all, Ernie loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

Ernie is survived by his daughters: Kim, wife of Michael Gehman of Lititz; June Aungst of Ephrata; two grandchildren: Danielle Gehman; and Kristy, wife of Max Styer; and one great-grandson on the way.

He was preceded in death by a son: Dale Schnoke; and five siblings: Williard, Glenn, Pauline, Violet and Jean.

A celebration of life service will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 20, at Kimberly and Michael’s home, 190 Dead End Road, Lititz.

Ruth Reardon, 90, owned Fivepointville Hotel, Hildy’s Tavern, treated all strangers like friends

Ruth J. Reardon, 90, of Mahanoy City, and previously of Lititz, died peacefully on Dec. 29, 2018 surrounded by family.

Born in Mahanoy City on June 11, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Greiner) Thomas. Her husband, Leo, died in December 1996.

She was a business woman, owning and operating the Fivepointville Hotel and The End. With her husband Leo, she owned and operated the Historic GreenTree Inn and Hildy’s Tavern. Ruth never met a stranger and was a friend to all. She cherished her family and was a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived a life full of laughter and fun. She enjoyed many summers at the bay, spending time at the beach, crabbing, and driving her boat.

Ruth is survived by two daughters: Donna R. of Lititz; and Alicia A. (wife of Ronald P. Snavely) of Quarryville; four grandchildren: Damon, Kerri, Jenna and Kristin; and six great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Sullivyn, Sawyer, Adrian, Callie and Colin.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Teddy and Bobby Thomas.

Ruth’s celebration of life and interment will be at the privacy of the family.

Clara E. Cochran, 71, co-owned Star dealership, kind, generous, wonderful sense of humor

Clara E. Cochran, 71, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Lancaster to the late John and Betty Andreadis, and was the wife of Burnell I. Cochran, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.

Clara was kind, loving, generous, and she sincerely cared about people. She also had a wonderful sense of humor.

She was a co-owner/operator of Star Chevrolet Oldsmobile.

In addition to her husband, Clara is survived by a son: Burnie Cochran, and his companion, Shelby Steyr; and a sister: Mary Consylman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Jim and George Andreadis.

Services were held Jan. 5 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, with Father Hector Firoglanis officiating. Interment will be private.

Lisa A. Whitmeyer, 55, of Bristol, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, at VNA of Greater Philadelphia Home Health Hospice.

She was born in Ephrata to Norma J. (Eshleman) and the late P. Ronald Whitmeyer

Lisa was an architect for Midatlantic Construction and Design. She was a graduate of Ephrata High School, University of Toledo and Drexel University. She enjoyed gardening, designing, decorating and rescuing dogs. In earlier years she enjoyed playing field hockey. She designed the Ephrata War Memorial Field Wall.

In addition to her mother, Lisa is survived by a brother: J. Scott, husband of Sandy (Mohler) Whitmeyer of Ephrata; a sister: Jodi Earhart, companion of Sam Thomas of Ephrata; four nephews: Kyle M. and Chad M. Whitmeyer, Michael and Joshua Watterson; and four great-nephews: Ian M. Whitmeyer, Hunter P., Wyatt and Jace Watterson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Gregory S. Beam, 64, longtime DORMA worker, guitarist, was Salem E&R member, Cowboys fan

Gregory S. Beam, 64, of Denver, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at the WellSpan York Hospital.

Greg was the husband of 42 years to Tina M. (Bitting) Beam. He grew up in Bowmansville, a son of Nancy (Wheland) Beam and the late Thomas S. Beam.

Greg worked at DORMA Americas in Reamstown for 46 year where he was the lead painter. He enjoyed music, particularly live music and playing his guitar. He was a sports enthusiast; a Dallas Cowboys football and New York Yankees baseball fan. Greg often enjoyed a local ride on his Honda Shadow motorcycle.

As a member of Salem Evangelical & Reformed Church, he loved Jesus and enjoyed the fellowship at church. He and Tina would take day trips to the beach, even though he didn’t like the sand, because of how much Tina liked it. He loved his role as “Pop Pop,” and spent a lot of time with his grandchildren. Greg was the go-to guy, always in-the-know and always willing to lend a hand.

In addition to his wife and mother, Greg is survived by three children: Cory S. Beam of Denver; Kelly L. L’Heureux, wife of Jason of Ephrata; and Jennifer L. Young of Ephrata; seven grandchildren: Julian, Kylie, Colin, Katie, Jack, Jonathan, and Kaya; and a sister: Judy Gehman.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. in Salem Evangelical & Reformed Church, 12 E. Church St., Reamstown, officiated by Reverend Joel Hertzog. Fellowship and time of sharing will begin at noon, in the church fellowship hall.

Ann Acampora, 86, Stevens, child care aide, devoted to family, liked music and shopping

Ann Acampora, 86, of Stevens, passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 31, 2018 at the Luther Acres Manor in Lititz.

Married in 1952, she was the loving wife of the late Joseph Acampora who died in 2003. Born in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of Joseph and Carmela (Flagiello) Mirabella.

Ann worked as a hairstylist assistant and later as a child care aide at Luther Care in Stevens. She was a long-time member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denver. She loved music, shopping, and having her hair and nails done. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. Ann loved her family and spending time with them was very important to her.

Ann is survived by her two daughters: Denise Connelly and her husband, Keith, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Robin Abdelmassih and her fiancé, Steve Simons, of Stevens; five grandchildren: Robin, Sean, Matthew, Jeffrey, and Mehgan; six great-grandchildren: Joshua, Superb, Victory, Cooper, Ava, and Shea; and her loyal dog: Dan.

She was predeceased by her brother: Joseph Mirabella.

Services were held Jan. 3 at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Pastor Newell Embley, III officiating. Entombment will be private at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Lloyd Z. Hoover, 77, of Ephrata, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, at home.

He was born in Earl Township to the late Mahlon N. and Ada S. (Zimmerman) Hoover, and was the husband of Ella N. (Nolt) Hoover, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

He was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. Lloyd was a laborer for Agri Construction, E-Z Manufacturing and Charles Poultry.

In addition to his wife, Lloyd is survived by eight children: Ella N. Hoover of Ephrata; Verna N., wife of Edwin N. Hoover of Dundee, N.Y.; Raymond N. Hoover of Ephrata; Aaron N., husband of Marian W. (Burkholder) Hoover of Greenwich, Ohio; Lloyd N., husband of Mary Ann (Martin) Hoover of Leola; John David N., husband of Arlene H. (Martin) Hoover of Orchard, Iowa; Ada N., wife of Edwin F. Hoover of Millmont; Elvin N., husband of Yvonne (High) Hoover of Denver; 37 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three siblings: Magdelena Z., wife of the late Isaac S. Hurst; John Z., husband of Ruth Hoover; and John Z., husband of Ruth Hoover.

He was predeceased by three siblings: David Z., husband of Anna W. (Horst) Hoover; Amos Z., husband of Lena M. (Nolt) Hoover; and Ann Mae Z., wife of the late Joseph Zimmerman.

Services were held Jan. 7 at Conestoga Mennonite Church, West Earl Township, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will took place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.

Anna Mary N. Burkholder, 82, of Leola, passed away at her home on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

Born in Upper Leacock Township, she was the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Anna Mary S. (Nolt) Burkholder.

She was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference).

Anna Mary is survived by three brothers: Paul N. (late Frances R.) Burkholder of Leola; Elmer N. (Mary H.) Burkholder of Leola; Leroy N. (Annetta M.) Burkholder of East Earl; three sisters: Esther N. and Elsie N. Burkholder, with whom she resided; Sarah N. (the late John Z.) Brubacher of Leola; a brother-in-law: J. Jacob Zimmerman of Leola; a sister-in-law: Emma Z. Burkholder of Ionia, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Ivan N. and Willis N. Burkholder; two sisters: Martha N. Burkholder and Katie N. Zimmerman; and a stillborn brother.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the the late residence, 183 Forest Hill Road, Leola. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 8:45 a.m. from the late residence, with further services at 9:30 a.m. from the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Leola, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Mark A. Hollinger, 86, Horning Dodge supervisor, served his country, enjoyed singing and hiking

Mark A. Hollinger, 86, of Long Community, Lancaster, formerly of Akron, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Landis Homes.

He was born in Narvon to John E. Sr. and Lottie (Fellenbaum) Hollinger, and was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Kuiaski) Hollinger for 54 years before she passed away in 2011.

He was a past member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Lancaster, where he sang in the choir for many years and was the treasurer for 15 years.

Mark was a mechanic and supervisor for Horning Dodge, New Holland, for 37 years.

In 1953, he served his country doing 1-W service for three years at Connecticut Valley Hospital, Middletown, Conn., as a psychiatric ward orderly. It was there that he met and married his wife Dotty, then moved back down to Lancaster County to live and raise their family. He enjoyed singing, hiking, biking, camping, traveling the world with his wife, and keeping up with current events. He was the best dad and friend a child could want. He was a kind and steady man and hard worker.

Mark is survived by a daughter: Brenda “Lynn” Hollinger of Middletown, Conn.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Aaron, John, Homer and Luke Hollinger; three sisters: Rhoda Petersheim, Miriam Hollinger, and Eva Martin; and three infant siblings.

Services were held Jan 4. at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron. Interment took place in the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery.

Glenn E. Bollinger, 77, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Leacock Township to the late Adam B. and Elizabeth (Buffenmyer) Bollinger, and was the husband of Edna B. (Bollinger) Bollinger, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

He was a member of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren where he served on the cemetery committee and as an usher. Glenn was a truck driver for Wayne Feeds of Centerville.

In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by two sons: Randy, husband of Becky Bollinger of Denver; Troy, husband of Lily Bollinger of Lititz; seven grandchildren: Katelyn, Kayla, Adam, Annika, Trevor, Tori and Leah; a sister: Martha, wife of Glenn Summy; a brother: E. James, husband of Gerry Bollinger; and a sister-in-law: Sharon Bollinger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Raymond Bollinger.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Church Road, Lititz. An additional viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 11, from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church, followed by funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor John Hess and Pastor Anthony Eberly officiating. Interment will take place in the Middle Creek Brethren Cemetery.

Richard H. Moyer, 88, was Navy vet, lifelong butcher, Vinemont Lutheran member, optimist

Richard H. Moyer, 88, of Denver, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019.

He was the husband of the late Louise “Sissy” (Smith) Moyer. Born in Wernersville, he was a son of the late Charles Sr. and Mary (Harding) Moyer.

Rich was a Navy veteran, and a lifelong butcher by trade. An avid outdoorsman, he spent a lot of time with the family, fishing and hunting at his cabin in Centre County. Rich was a member of Dry Fork hunting camp. He played on a dart league for many years. He was a man of faith and a member of Vinemont Community Lutheran Church. Rich will be remembered as an eternal optimist, always positive and pleasant.

He is survived by four sons: Ronald L. (Patricia) Moyer of Brownstown; Ricky L. (Karen) Moyer of Ephrata; Scot A. (Lori) Moyer of Lebanon; and Steven K. (Melissa) Moyer of Centreville, Va.; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step-great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Betty Kramer, Charles Moyer, and Mildred Schnoke.

Rich was predeceased by his grandson: Jonathan Moyer; and a sister: Arlene Stoudt.

Services were held Jan. 15 at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Reamstown. Interment followed at Swamp Cemetery, Reinholds.
