James Irwin “Jim” Sell, 70, of Ephrata, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015.
He was the husband of Judy A. Grill Sell. They were married for 50 years this past September. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Irwin and Irene K. Schwartz Sell.
A 1963 graduate of Garden Spot High School, Mr. Sell worked for Lawrence Industries in North Carolina and was a custodian at Lampeter-Strasburg High School. A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1963 through 1967. Jim attended Manheim Mennonite Church. He enjoyed gardening and carving wooden boats.
He is also survived by a son: Matthew James Sell, at home; a grandson: Garrett Isley; a son-in-law: Randy Isley, Burlington, N.C.; a brother: J. Arthur, married to Susanne Sell, Ephrata.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Louisa Ann Isley; a brother: James Robert Sell; and a sister: Betty Jane Stoltzfus.
A memorial service was held March 7 at Manheim Mennonite Church.
