Paul F. Miller, Jr., 65, of Reinholds, entered into rest Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at home under hospice care, after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Reading to Paul F. and Emma (Zieber) Miller, and was the former husband of Tracy (Beamesderfer) Miller.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church in Reamstown, Band of Brothers of the Church, Fraternal Order of Police, and served as a volunteer with the West Lawn and Mohnton fire departments, and Gov. Mifflin Ambulance Services. Paul was a fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Nascar, and the Phillies. He enjoyed classic cars, and following his daughters’ college teams.
Paul was a graduate of the Reading High School class of 1967 and the Reading Police Academy. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Paul worked as a police officer for Cumru Township, retiring in June 2013. He formerly served with the Mohnton Police Department and earlier worked as a mechanic for Lindgren Chrysler Plymouth for 19 years.
Paul is survived by two daughters: Heather L. and Alysha R. Miller, both of Reinholds; two brothers: Michael David, husband of Tammy Miller of Lenhartsville; and David Michael, husband of Holly Miller of Mohnton; and two sisters: Vickie, wife of Charles Lavigna of Sinking Spring; and Diane, wife of Robert Adams of Womelsdorf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Scott P. Miller; and a sister: Donna Puksar.
Services were held Oct. 18 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown, with pastor, Rev. Kirk R. Marks officiating. Full honors will be presented by the Fraternal Order of Police. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
