Henry B. Schannauer, 74, of Reinholds, passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Ephrata Community Hospital.
He was born in West Cocalico Township to the late Irvin and Mamie (Bard) Schannauer and was the husband of the late Janet F. (Fry) Schannauer.
He was a member of Swamp Lutheran Church in Reinholds, Ephrata Blue Lodge 665 F. & A.M., the Reading Shrine, the Reamstown AA and the Reinholds VFW Post. He especially enjoyed cooking, his dog Bentley, hunting and fishing in his early years, and was an Eagles and Phillies fan. Henry formerly owned Henry Schannauer Plumbing in Reinholds. He later worked in the maintenance department for the Ephrata School District for 16 years and retired in 2010.
Henry is survived by three brothers: LeRoy, husband of Betty Schannauer of Sinking Spring; Donald, husband of Nancy Schannauer of Newport; and Irvin, husband of Margaret Schannauer of Denver; three sisters: Ella Shirk of Lancaster; Shirley, wife of John Showalter of Denver; and Anna Adams of Ephrata; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son: James Schannauer; three brothers: Harvey B., Ralph B. and John B. Schannauer; and a sister: Arlene Miller.
A viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 16 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Swamp Lutheran Church, 275 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds with funeral services following with Pastor Dennis L. Trout officiating. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.
