Timothy A. Heitz, 58, went home to be with his Lord on July 3, 2019 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Tim was a native of Ephrata.
He was a graduate of Grove City College and Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C. He served many years as pastor in the following church communities throughout Eastern Pennsylvania: Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland, First United Methodist Church in Frackville, Fredericksburg United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg, and First United Methodist Church in Ephrata. Additionally, he served as interim pastor to Saint John’s Center UCC and Mount Zion United Methodist Church. As a man of great faith, God continued to use and bless Tim in his service to the Lord at Superior Walls of America, Lancaster Bible College, JK Mechanical, and Elite Coach.
Tim leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years: Julia E. (Gehman) Heitz; a daughter: Karolin E., wife of Ryan B Kennedy; and sons: Brian R. Heitz, husband of Nicolina (Maiorana); and Stefan M. Heitz; his four grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel and Wesley Kennedy and Hailey Heitz; as well as his brother: Kenneth L. Heitz.
Tim was preceded in death by his brother: Rick Heitz; and his parents: Richard F. and Betty J. (Rice) Heitz.
A celebration of life service will be held at Hopeland United Methodist Church, 295 N. Clay Road, Lititz, on Sunday afternoon, July 14, at 3 p.m. An hour of visitation with the family will precede the service. Interment will be at the convenience of his family.
