John K. Weaver, 67, of Denver, passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019 at home.
He was born in Denver to the late Harold S. and Mildred A. (Kline) Weaver, and was the husband of Yvonne (Moyer) Weaver, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage.
John was the owner/operator of Weaver Industries. He was a member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He was a lifetime member of the Denver Fire Department, serving over 50 years and acted in every office. He also served with the Reinholds Fire Department and was a PA Fire Instructor.
He was a board member of Cocalico School District for 12 years, where he also coached bowling and golf. John was a Free Mason of the Ephrata Masonic Lodge #665, a member of and instrumental in starting the Denver Athletic Association, Cocalico Midget Football Association, a member of Heidelberg Country Club, and a past member of Red Rose Horse and Pony Club.
He served on the Ephrata Community Hospital Board, Denver National Bank Board, Fulton Bank Advisory Board, Denver Zoning Hearing Board, and Cocalico Area Police Board, and he served as treasurer for the Denver Borough Authority.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by three sons: John J. “JJ,” husband of Dawn (Kiser) Weaver of Georgia; James A., husband of Chivonne (Kline) Weaver of Denver; and Jason T., husband of Stephanie (Behney) Weaver of Denver; four grandchildren: Jacob Ryan, CharLee Marie, Jenna Kate, and Tanner Christian Weaver.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for all of the love, visits, heartfelt gestures, thoughts and prayers.
Services were held Jan. 29 at Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Denver, with Pastor Peter Schwabe-Fry officiating. A Masonic service was conducted by Ephrata Blue Lodge #665 F. & A.M. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
