Wallace ‘Wally’ J. Roth, 89, Rothsville H.S. alum, Korea vet, upholsterer, enjoyed hunting, fishing

Wallace “Wally” J. Roth, 89, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.

He was born in Lititz, to the late James and Minnie (Hackman) Roth, and was the husband of Patricia (Wolf) Roth with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 28.

Wally was an upholsterer for Roth’s Upholstery and Lieds Upholstery. He graduated from Rothsville High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., serving during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. He was a lifetime member of Cocalico Post #3376 VFW, a member of the Reamstown Athletic Association, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife, Wally is survived by two children: Cindy L., wife of Gene Ulrich of Sinking Spring; Neal P. Sr., husband of Denise Roth of Ephrata; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Larry Roth, Vincent Roth, Patsy Aukamp, Gina Yoder, Joyce Spangler, Lucille Regan, and Linda McGee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Michael S. and Craig L. Roth; and a granddaughter: Brittany Jayne Grill.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, 310 Wabash Road, Ephrata, with Pastor Kelly Sensenig officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard.
