Mamie A. Bartholomew, 84, Akron restaurant waitress, mother of seven, enjoyed cooking

Mamie A. Bartholomew, 84, of Akron, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Lancashire Hall.

She was born in Stevens to the late Michael and Emma (Rickert) Miller and was the wife of the late Daniel C. Bartholomew, who passed away in 2013.

Mamie was a waitress for Akron Restaurant for over 30 years. She enjoyed bingo and spending time with family, especially cooking for them.

Mamie is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Miller of Ephrata, Robert Bartholomew of Ephrata; four daughters: June Keller of Denver; Robin, wife of Dean Rearich of Ephrata; Kathy, wife of Tim Rickenbach of Akron; Teresa Hersh of Ephrata; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Michael, husband of Kathryn Miller of Reamstown; John Miller, companion of Holly Garber of Florida; and a sister: Betty, wife of the late Elmer Sensenig of Akron.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Timothy Bartholomew.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 7 p.m., with Pastor Jeffrey Martin officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mamie’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society-Lancaster County Unit, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA, 17603.
