William J. Blackshire Jr., 91, Ephrata, died Sept. 7, 2017, in Ephrata Community Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, a son of the late William J. and Esther (Switzer) Blackshire Sr., he was a World War II Army veteran.
William was of the Catholic faith and managed Father & Sons Shoe stores, Philadelphia. He was an avid bowler; enjoyed camping and golf; and was a fan of the Phillies, Eagles, and Barnstormers. He was a loving gentleman who cherished his family and friends.
Surviving are children: Joy Blackshire, Philadelphia; William J. Blackshire III, Ephrata; and Kelly (James) Cooper, New Holland; grandchildren: Ian, Billy Joe, Trevohr, Caitlyn, Patrick, and Emily Jane; great-grandson: Connor; and his former wife: Rita U. Huffnagle, Ephrata.
Brothers John and Joe, predeceased him.
Funeral services were held Sept. 11 at Good Funeral Home, Reamstown. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
