Eugene R. Frankford, 77, former resident, Air Force veteran, Giorgio driver, enjoyed restoring cars

Eugene R. Frankford, 77, of Bloomsburg, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.

He was born Feb. 17, 1940, in Lancaster, a son of the late Ralph Frankford and Cora Sensenig.

He attended Cocalico High School in Denver, and then joined the U.S. Air Force where he was a radar operator. Eugene was a truck driver for Giorgio Foods in Temple. Prior to retiring, he enjoyed taking his grandchildren out for breakfast. After retiring, the first Saturday of every month, he liked going for breakfast with his truck driving friends and their wives. Eugene attended Shiloh Bible Church, enjoyed restoring old cars, and riding motorcycles.

Eugene is survived by his wife: the former Linda Stump, whom he married Sept. 23, 1961; three children: Kathi Shaffer and husband David of Bloomsburg; R. Scott Frankford and wife Brenda of Berwick; Todd Frankford and wife Donna of Berwick; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother: Ralph Frankford and wife Dolores of Toney, Ala.; step-sister: Sandra Harding of Sinking Spring; and several nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Robert, William, and James Frankford; and three sisters: Fern Busser, Ruth Beck, and Linda Yost.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m., at Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church St., Bloomsburg. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be sent to Shiloh Bible Church, 1234 Church St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
