Dorothy M. Parker, 93, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Hershey Medical Center.
She was born in Glouster, Ohio, to the late Leonard and Mae (VanDyke) Lowery, and was the wife of the late Theodore A. Parker Jr., who died in 2003.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and politics. She was a long-time officer in the Lancaster City Republican Party and briefly served on the Lancaster City Council. She also served for many years as a leader the YMCA and Cub Scouts.
Dorothy is survived by a son: Blanford C. Parker of Ave Maria, Fla.; a daughter: Saundra J. Hamilton of Palmyra; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Theodore A. Parker III.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
