Otto J. Krause, 79, of Ephrata, passed away Monday evening, May 2, 2016 at the Hospice and Community Care Center in Mount Joy, following a long illness.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late John O. and Augusta L. Hagenbart Krause, and the husband of the late Marilyn A. Hodges Krause, who passed away in February 2008.
Otto served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, where he serviced jets to be sent overseas. He had worked as the manager for 16 years in the metrology department of Ferranti International. He loved working on and running his Lionel model railroad.
Otto will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Karen A. Krause-Wadsworth of Ephrata; his grandchildren: Joshua and Lauren Wadsworth; and his sister: Mary Gnad of New Port Richey, Fla.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate his life in a memorial service at the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 110 Durlach Road, Ephrata, Thursday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m., with Pastors Rocky Hambrick and Ken Higginbotham officiating. Private interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Military Cemetery, Annville. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Otto’s memory to the Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community; 3026 Mount Hope Home Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
