Helen L. Bowman, 89, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in Ephrata to the late Leroy and Bessie (Shiffer) Wolf, and was the wife of the late George H. Bowman.
Helen graduated from Ephrata High School and Rider University. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ephrata, and had been the church secretary until her retirement. She had been an avid bowler and enjoyed Wii Bowling in the past few years. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle.
Helen is survived by son: Robert, husband of Rita Bowman; daughter: Georgene, wife of Robert Schall; grandson: Brandon, husband of Vanessa Bowman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her four siblings: Betty (Wolf) Callihan, Robert Wolf, Clara (Wolf) Rudy, and Gladys (Wolf) Grube.
A memorial service was held Feb. 29 at the Stradling Funeral Home, Ephrata, with Pastor Walter Carter officiating. Interment took place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
