Howard S. Stacks, 78, passed away on July 21, 2018, with his devoted wife of 56 years, June, by his side, after a long battle with Lewy body dementia. Formerly of Stevens, he was a resident of Fairmount Homes, Ephrata.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1939, in Cordova, Ala., the son of the late Sefus and Mary (Connell) Stacks.
An avid sports fan (Roll Tide, Fly Eagles Fly), he also loved fishing, boating, and above all else, his family. He will be deeply missed.
Howard worked as a machinist for Case New Holland prior to his retirement in 2008.
Howard was a great dad to his daughters: Teresa Sleighter (Kurt), of Mountain Home, Ark.; and Lynn Cramer (Chad) of Ephrata. His two grandsons were his pride and joy: Nick Tompkins and Kyle Cramer, both of Ephrata. He is also survived by four sisters: Lillian Snyder (Bill), JoAnn Frey, Glenda Burdine, and Linda Sokol; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only brother: Floyd.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Russ Eberly officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
