Janet E. Miller, 80, homemaker, RCA worker, Swamp Christian member, enjoyed shopping

Janet E. Miller, 80, of Stevens, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Lancashire Hall.

She was born in Denver to the late Warren and Grace Musser, and was the wife of the late Harry T. Miller, who died in 2003.

Janet was a member of Swamp Christian Fellowship Church in Reinholds. She loved to shop, travel, and go out to eat. She was a long-time homemaker, but was previously employed at RCA.

She is survived by a son: Erik K., husband of Veronica Miller of Stevens; and a sister: Joan Musser.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Joyce Musser and Jean Wenrich; and two brothers: Mervyn and Merlin Musser.

Services were held April 30 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver. Entombment took place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.

Clarence ‘Sonny’ Hartranft (Service information)

Clarence “Sonny” Hartranft went to be with the Lord Nov. 27, 2017.

He served in the Navy in the 1950s on the Destroyer the U.S.S. Turner as a cook and a gunny. He also worked at W.W. Moyer and Gerber for 30-plus years until they closed. Prior to retiring, he then worked for Quinlan Pretzel for several years.

He was a life brother and member of the Denver Oriole’s Nest for many years, where he also served as past president. He also belonged to Reinholds VFW, and Reamstown AA. He enjoyed going to the races and spending time in the mountains.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 3, at 3 p.m, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, where military honors will be accorded.

Cathryn K. Oberholtzer, 81, in-home caregiver, ECH worker, Springville Mennonite member

Cathryn K. Oberholtzer, 81, of Cocalico Christian Home in Denver, formerly of Lebanon County, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Fairmount Homes.

She was born in Upper Leacock Township to the late Aaron L. and Katie S. (Kreider) Oberholtzer.

She was a member of Springville Mennonite Church, Ephrata. In earlier years, Cathryn worked in the bakery for Dutch-Way, and the laundry department for Ephrata Community Hospital. She most recently was a private in-home caregiver.

Cathryn is survived by a sister: Mary, married to Ivan Nolt; a brother: Nathan, married to Miriam (Nolt) Oberholtzer of Denver; three sisters-in-law: Katie, married to Phares Newswanger of Newmanstown; Anna Mary, widow of the late Adin Oberholtzer of Ephrata; Edna Mae, widow of the late Mahlon Oberholtzer of Ronks; and 44 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Norman, Irwin, Aaron, Paul, and John Jacob Oberholtzer; three sisters: Martha, Elsie, and Edna Oberholtzer; and four nephews.

Services were held April 30 at Pequea Mennonite Church, Gordonville, with Bishop Melvin Martin officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.

Patricia A. Hoke, 78, of Lititz, passed away on April 22. Patricia had worked for over 28 years as a machine operator for the Warner Lambert (Johnson & Johnson Corp.) in Lititz. Prior to this, she had worked at the Badorf Shoe Company. She loved all kinds of animals, enjoyed gardening and attending her grandson’s soccer and baseball games. Her brother: Charles, married to Dorothy Weidler, lives in Stevens.

Dennis L. Kopp, 64, Cocalico grad, Conestoga Wood Products worker, enjoyed cars, movies

Dennis L. Kopp, 64, of Lancaster, formerly of Denver, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Conestoga View.

He was born in Ephrata to the late Adam and Mary (Zartman) Kopp, and was the husband of the late Linda (Zimmerman) Kopp, who died in 2015.

Dennis attended the Cornerstone Bible Church in Bowmansville, and enjoyed cars and movies. He was a graduate of the Cocalico class of 1971. He was last employed at Conestoga Wood Products.

Dennis is survived by a son: Kevin Kopp, and fiancée Amanda Henne, of Denver; two sisters: Janice M., wife of Norman Stauffer of New Holland; and Sharon, wife of Mike Neal of Lititz; two brothers: Donald, husband of Pat Kopp of Denver; and Ray, husband of Mary Lou Kopp of Reading; and a brother-in-law: Ronald Weachter.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Kopp.

Services were held April 26 at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Jahn Horgen officiating. Interment took place in the Brunnerville U.M. Cemetery.

Carol Ann Parker, 77, bookkeeper, Peace UCC member, Red Hatter, reader, enjoyed camping

Carol Ann (Lippert) Parker, 77, of Denver, passed away peacefully in her home on April 27, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

Born and raised in Clifton Heights, she was the daughter of the late Clark and Marie (Lineman) Lippert, and the beloved wife of Ronald A. Parker, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

She was a graduate of Clifton Heights High School and spent over 40 years in the profession of bookkeeper. In 2005, she and Ronald moved to Denver where she spent the duration of her life in the company of her loved ones and friends.

She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Carol loved spending time with her family and enjoyed camping, sightseeing and going on adventures with Ronald and her two daughters as they and their grandchildren were growing up. She was an avid reader and a member of the Red Hatters. In her younger days, she loved to make candles, sew, and crochet and was a member of her local bowling league.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her daughter: Kimberly, wife of John Starcheski of Wagontown; six grandchildren: Jordan Louise, Kyle Allen, Jacqueline Marie, Catherine Lee, Stephanie Lynn, and Emily Rose; and six great-grandchildren.

Carol is predeceased by her daughter: Candace (Parker) Innes; and her brother: Clark W. Lippert.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, 34-38 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown. Visitation will be prior to service from 9 to 10 a.m. A committal service will follow at Muddy Creek Cemetery, Denver.

Edith H. ‘Edie’ Latshaw, 80, EHS grad, Walter Moyer and fair stand worker, enjoyed babysitting

Edith H. “Edie” Latshaw, 80, of Reinholds, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Manor Care, Sinking Spring.

She was born in Ephrata to the late Raymond and Minerva (Kreider) Hertzog, and was the wife of Lloyd E. Latshaw, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage this past April 7.

Edie was a homemaker and a member of Vinemont Community Lutheran Church, Reinholds. She was a 1955 graduate of Ephrata High School, and enjoyed babysitting, playing bingo, yard sales, working in the pizza and sausage trailers at the local fairs, visiting the mountains and watching the bear cubs, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Edie had worked in the office of the Walter Moyer factory, in Ephrata before she had children. As a young person, she worked on the family farm.

In addition to her husband, Edith is survived by three children: Denise, wife of Daniel Moyer of Reinholds; Dale, husband of Kim Latshaw of Ephrata; Danette, wife of Bob Ludwig of Reinholds; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother: Earl, husband of Patricia Althouse Hertzog of Denver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Ernest Hertzog.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Abera Hellemo officiating. Interment will take place in the Swamp Cemetery.

Joseph A. Roux, 57, Army vet, Morgan Body Corp. worker, Harley rider, Steelers fan

Joseph A. Roux, 57, of Ephrata passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Providence, R.I., Joseph was a son of the late Anna Mae (Harlan) and Raymond W. Roux Sr.

Joseph was proud to serve in the U.S. Army. He was an assembler for Morgan Body Corp. for many years. Joseph attended the Good Shepherd Community Church in Ephrata. He loved riding his Harley Davison Sportster with the Christian Motorcyclist Association and American Legion Riders. Joseph was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He had a mischievous, fun-loving spirit but most of all, Joseph would do anything for anyone. He was reliable and giving. Joseph enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his brother: Raymond Roux (Kim) of Ephrata; two sisters: Mary Shimer and Marsha Roux, both of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews.

A sister, Wendy Mertz, predeceases him.

Services were held April 30 at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Pastor Allan Yoder officiating. Interment followed at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Elsie Mae (Weber) Knoll, 99, teacher, J&E Rental worker, HSCV volunteer, enjoyed traveling

Elsie Mae (Weber) Knoll died April 21, 2018 at 99 years of age.

She and her husband, James R. Knoll (1920-2017) resided at Willow Valley Retirement Communities for the past 24 years.

Born in Denver in 1918, Elsie was the second oldest of six children born to Annie (Good) and Harry Weber. Elsie graduated from Denver High School in 1934 and Millersville State Teachers College. She also pursued post-graduate studies at Duke University in North Carolina.

Mrs. Knoll began teaching in Denver in a one-room school house. Her last teaching assignment was teaching second graders at Bethany Children’s Home in Conrad Weiser Unified School District in 1960.

Elsie and Jim moved to Wernersville from New Jersey in 1960 to raise their two daughters. Elsie was active in the community: Wernersville Woman’s Club (president), Brownie and Girl Scout leader, library board, the Tulpehocken Historical Society, and spearheaded the Youth for Understanding Foreign Exchange program at Conrad Weiser High School.

In 1975, Mr. and Mrs. Knoll moved to Ephrata where Elsie was instrumental in ensuring the success of the family-owned J&E Rental Center. Elsie continued her community service with the Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley, the Hans Herr House, and HOST, a program supporting literacy in Lancaster elementary schools. In addition, Elsie loved to read, travel, and spend time with her family.

Elsie is survived by her youngest brother: Ed Weber, and his wife Barbara (Florida); daughters: Suzanne Powell and Bonnie Richardson, and their husbands, Glenn Powell and Don Richardson. In addition, she will be missed by her two grandchildren: Elizabeth and Eric Powell; and great-grandson: Kolton Powell.

Services will be private.

Angela E. Witwer, 40, EHS grad, phlebotomist at Ephrata hospital, mother of two

Angela E. Witwer, 40, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Born Dec. 13, 1977 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Eugene and Claudia M. (Snavely) Eckman.

Angela was a 1996 graduate of Ephrata High School. She worked as a phlebotomist in Ephrata hospital.

In addition to her loving parents, Angela is survived by her children: Madalyn Witwer, Nathan C. Witwer; her children’s father: Eric Witwer; her best friend: Kerry M. Kinnier; as well as her uncle Kevin, and aunt Mary Riley, uncle Mark and Tina (Riley) Kline, uncle Buddy and aunt Teresa (Eckman) Baker, uncle Greg Eckman and auntie Carol, her guardian angel and roommate.

Angela was preceded in death by her big sister, Tracie Lynn McComsey on Nov. 13, 1984.

Services were held April 21 at Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, Millersville. Interment was held in Mellinger’s Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster.

Barbara Ann Roberts, 79, USMC vet, mother of three, nurse’s aide at Green Hills Nursing

Barbara Ann Roberts, 79, of Ephrata, formerly of Denver and Newmanstown, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Ephrata Manor.

She was born in Reading to the late Raymond and Dorothy (Becker) Beisswanger, and was the wife of the late Walter G. Roberts, who died in 2015. They are together again.

Barbara was a member of Kenhorst Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating from Reading High School. Barbara worked as a nurse’s aide at Green Hills Nursing Center.

Barbara is survived by three children: Danielle, wife of Brian Pannebecker of Newmanstown; Richard, husband of Elisabeth Roberts of Maryland; and Michelle Redpath of Womelsdorf; six grandchildren: Andrea Eshleman; and Davey, Caleb, Joshua, and Luke Roberts; and Tim Staver; six great-grandchildren: Eric, Kyle, Jada, Jonathan, Jordan and Hailey; and a brother: Raymond, husband of Kathy Beisswanger of Reading.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Donald Beisswanger.

Graveside services will be held, for both Barbara and Walter, on Friday, May 25 at 3 p.m. at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded. Please be at the cemetery by 2:30 p.m.

Richard H. Kramer, 90, Army vet, worked for Reading Railroad, passionate woodworker

Richard H. Kramer, 90, of Stevens, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, at home.

Richard was the son of the late Harry S. and Mary (Yocum) Kramer. Married for 70 years, he was the faithful husband of Jeanne V. (Collingwood) Kramer

Richard spent his working years, after he was discharged from the Army, working for the Reading Railroad (PRR). He was also a passionate woodworker in his shop. His other affection belonged to his beloved cats, Sam and Freddie.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by a daughter: Susan M. Kramer of Stevens; and two sons: Michael R., husband of Tammy Kramer of Fairbanks, Alaska; and Patrick H., husband of Linda Kramer of Stevens. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

John David Huber, 79, formerly of Ephrata and Terre Hill, farmer, father of 14

John David Huber, 79, of Rural Memphis, Mo., and formerly of Ephrata and Terre Hill, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, at his residence north of Memphis, Mo.

John David was born on Aug. 28, 1938, in Lancaster County, the son of Phares and Lena Huber.

On Aug. 30, 1958, in Myerstown, he married Edna Z. Martin. The couple resided in both Ephrata and Terre Hill, and to this union 14 children were born.

John David and Edna left Pennsylvania and moved to Knox City, Mo., in 1973, to farm and raise their family. Edna preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 2007.

He was a member of the Millport Mennonite Church, near Rutledge, Mo., and later the Meadow View Mennonite Church, north of Memphis, Mo.

On Sept. 5, 2009, John David married Mary H. Martin at his home in rural Knox City, Mo., and she survives at their residence north of Memphis, Mo.

He is also survived by his 14 children: Lorraine Martin of Waterloo, N.Y., along with her special friend, Daniel Faus of Sunbury; Ruth (Mervin) Hoover of Rutledge, Mo.; Earl (Edith) Huber of Knox City, Mo.; Esther Mae (Edwin) Ramer of Gorin, Mo.; Kathryn (Glenn) Zimmerman of Arbela, Mo.; Susan (Jerry) High of Arbela, Mo.; Edna (Lloyd) Ramer of Rutledge, Mo.; Grace (Clifford) Martin of Edina, Mo.; Martha (Abraham) Zimmerman of Rutledge, Mo.; Elva (James) Hoover of Knox City, Mo.; Nancy, Elizabeth and Marian Huber of Knox City, Mo.; and Mary Ellen Huber of Memphis, Mo.; seven stepchildren: Nevin (Laura) Martin of Memphis, Mo.; Romaine (Vernon) Oberholtzer of Memphis, Mo.; Mary Joyce (Nathan) Zimmerman of Rutledge, Mo.; Lois (Earl) Oberholtzer of Wyaconda, Mo.; Earl Lamar (Eleanor) Martin of Memphis, Mo.; and Lucille Martin of Lititz; 93 grandchildren; 46 step-grandchildren; 133 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Christian Huber of Manheim; and Melvin (Edith) Huber of Myerstown; five sisters: Irma Martin of Rutledge, Mo.; Sara Ann (Paul) Weaver of Myerstown; Martha and Marian Huber of Terre Hill; and Laura (Enos) Showalter of South Wayne, Wisc.; sisters-in-law: Anna Huber of New Holland; Emma Huber of Manheim; and Esther Huber of Rutledge, Mo.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

John David was preceded in death by his parents: Phares and Lena Huber; two grandchildren: Karla and Anthony Zimmerman; one great-grandchild: Delilah Haldeman; three brothers: Lloyd, Phares, and Martin Huber; four sisters: Elva Huber, Esther Weaver, and Mary and Anna Huber in infancy.

Services were held May 9 at Millport Mennonite Church, south of Rutledge, Mo. Officiating were Abner Oberholtzer, Carl Hoover, Luke Fox, Wilson Martin, and Glenn High. Burial was in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery, south of Rutledge, Mo.

Pall bearers were John David Hoover, Jonathan Ramer, Harlan Huber, Lamar Martin, John Earl Zimmerman, and Jacob Zimmerman.

Robert L. Auch Sr., 81, formerly of Ephrata, worked for Perkiomen Valley S.D., NASCAR fan

Robert L. Auch Sr., 81, husband of Joan Moser Auch, of Billings, Mont., formerly of Ephrata and Trappe, died Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Billings Clinic Hospital, Billings Mont., with his wife and son at his side.

Mr. Auch was born May 13, 1936 in Norristown, the son of the late D. Wellington and Blanche (Foy) Auch.

He was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1954 and was most recently employed by Perkiomen Valley School District. He was a member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ in Collegeville. He was a NASCAR fan and lifetime fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Mr. Auch is survived by his son: Robert Auch Jr. (Linda) of Billings, Mont.; and daughter: Robin Zelenak (Mike) of Reinholds. He was predeceased by two sons: Ronald L. Auch and Ryan L. Auch.

He is also survived by four granddaughters: Emily, Caitlin, Cara and Madeline; and two grandsons: Zachary and Austin; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at Trinity Reformed UCC, 532 E. Main St., Collegeville, with Pastor Reverend Dr. Martha B. Kreibel officiating.

John D. Kilmer, 92, long-time farmer, WDAC sales rep, freelance auctioneer, MVBC deacon

John D. Kilmer, 92, formerly of Manheim, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Cornwall Manor.

Born in Ephrata Township, he was the son of the late Henry W. and Anna Martin Kilmer. He was the loving husband of Rhoda M. Hollinger Kilmer and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in March.

John owned and operated his farm in Rapho Township for over 60 years. He also worked as a sales representative for WDAC radio station and he was a freelance auctioneer. John was a member of First Baptist Church of Lebanon and a former active member of Mountain View Bible Church, Hummelstown where he served as a deacon.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children: Mary Ann, wife of Pastor Thomas Graham of Hummelstown; Joyce E., wife of Pastor David Moss of York; Donald L., husband of Karen Hoffer Kilmer, missionaries in South Africa; and Nelson R., husband of Missy McLaughlin Kilmer of Manheim; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Ruth, wife of Arthur Wenger of Manheim.

He was preceded in death by a sister: Mary Stutzman; and six brothers: Philip Martin, Jacob M., Clarence H., Joel M., Paul M., and James E. Kilmer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at First Baptist Church of Lebanon, 20 Linden Road, Lebanon, on Friday, May 11 at 11 a.m. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m until the time of service. Interment will be private in Chiques Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township.

Mamie Elizabeth Gehman, Denver H.S. grad, registered nurse, educator, Grace Fellowship member

Mamie Elizabeth Gehman, a long-time resident of Akron, died at Landis Homes Retirement Center, on May 5, 2018.

She was the daughter of the late Wayne Hollinger Gehman and May Ann “Mamie” Oberholtzer (Trupe) Gehman. She was born in Denver on March 31, 1923.

In 1941, she graduated from Denver High School. During World War II, she was a clerk at Armstrong Cork Company of Lancaster. She earned her B.A. degree from Columbia Bible College in Columbia, SC, in 1949. In the fall of that year, Ms. Gehman began her training in nursing at Fordham Hospital in New York City, where she earned her Registered Nurse certification. She was a head nurse at Columbus Hospital in Manhattan, N.Y.

For 15 years, she taught at the Central School of Practical Nursing, where she also served as a supervisor. In 1971, Mamie earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Adelphi University, Garden City, Long Island, N.Y.

Further work in her chosen profession included serving as a head nurse at the Home of the Sages Nursing Home in New York City. In later years, she was employed by Staff Builders Agency, working in hospitals and in homes located in Manhattan.

She was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church of New York City, where she taught Sunday school in the Primary Department from 1962 through 1981. She often conducted the junior church sessions, and she was an active member of the Business Women’s Organization. She served as a deaconess at Calvary Baptist Church.

After retirement, she returned to Pennsylvania, where she attended and had been active in Grace Fellowship Church in Ephrata. Mamie traveled widely in this country and many others, and enjoyed corresponding with people who lived near and far.

She is survived by her sister: Ann Wivell of Denver; and by her brother: Rev. Daniel (Mary) Gehman of Elyria, Ohio; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Clayton, Wayne, and Eugene Gehman.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., on Saturday, May 12, at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Frank Rice officiating. Interment will be held at the Denver Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions donations maybe made in Mamie’s memory to Grace Fellowship Church, 822 Pointview Ave., Ephrata, PA 17522.

Michael H. Leed, 44, of Denver passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at his residence.

He was born in Ephrata to Richard and Laura (Cooper) Leed, and was the husband of Sherry (Burkholder) Leed.

Mike was a 1992 graduate of Cocalico High School. He was a carpenter and mechanic. He was a member of the Cocalico Sportsmen’s Association He enjoyed hunting and building and fixing things.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons: Scott Michael and Shawn Mason Leed, both at home; a brother: Richard Jr., husband of Traci Leed; and a sister: Tammy Leed.

A viewing will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver, followed by his funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Eldon N. Weaver, infant son of Joshua W. and Vera S. (Newswanger) Weaver, of Denver, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at home.

In addition to his parents, he is survived his four siblings: Joshua Jr., Kathryn, LeeAlan and Martin; maternal grandparents: Aaron and Kathryn Newswanger; and paternal grandparents: Joseph and Eunice Weaver.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Miriam Weaver.

Esther M. Mitchell, 74, of Ephrata, widow of the late Frederick H. Mitchell, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by two daughters: Traci L., wife of Richard Leed of New Holland; and Nanci B., wife of Fernando Zuniga of Ephrata; four grandchildren: Loran Martzall Sr., Joshua Bollinger, Devin Leed, and Miranda Zuniga; one great-grandchild: Loran Martzall Jr.; two brothers: David Helman, husband of Kathleen, of Stevens; and James Helman, husband of Barbara, of Fayetteville, N.C.; one niece; two nephews; and her first husband: Gary E. Irwin.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents: Clyde E. and Pearl E. (Sipe) Helman; granddaughter: Tara M. Leed; brother: Richard Helman; and sister: Carol Strickler.

Esther loved spending time with her family; especially at home or camping by the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and Steelers football games. A longtime member of the Lincoln Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Esther served as secretary for many years.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9 at Gravenor Home for Funerals, 100 W. Main St., Ephrata. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10 at Memory Gardens, East Cocalico Township.

Those who desire may make memorial contributions in Esther’s memory to the Lincoln Fire Company at 38 S. Market St., Ephrata, PA 17522.

Matthew P. Dostick, 30, of Ephrata, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Matt will be lovingly missed by his parents: Wanda L. Dale of Ephrata, and Patrick J. Dostick Jr. of North Carolina; maternal grandparents: Donald and Joanne Klopp of Ephrata; paternal grandparents: Dale and Cynthia Wagner of Lebanon; six siblings: Ronald Young Jr. (Coletta) of Schaefferstown; Karie Young of Lancaster; Michael Dostick of Ephrata; David Dostick of Ephrata; Sherrie Santor (Eric) of Coal Township; and Kimberly Beck of Bellefonte; two nieces: Tori and Cali; three nephews: Zachary, Adan, and Brenan; four aunts: Susan, Joan, Laurie, and Cindy; one uncle: Don; and numerous cousins.

Matt was a hard worker who loved his job as a construction carpenter. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid duck hunter and fisherman. Matt was always a pleasant and enjoyable person to be around.
