Helen M. Frank, 92, of Ephrata, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Ephrata Manor.
She was born in Kannapolis, N.C. to the late Franklin and Lottie (Tickle) Hester and was the wife of the late Harold L. Frank who passed away in 1989. The couple had been married 39 years.
Helen was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, Ephrata. During her working years, Helen taught nursery school for 28 years at the Ephrata Rec Center. She was one of the first employees at Doneckers and worked there for 25 years. She was a member of the Ephrata Women’s Club for 50 years, was very active in the Ephrata Golden Years Club and an avid sports fan, particularly the Dallas Cowboys and the Duke Blue Devils. Helen loved to travel, play cards and going to the beach, but her most favorite times were spent with Marlé Jo.
Helen is survived by her daughter: Marlé Jo, wife of Martin Jakubczak, former mayor of Jackson, N.J. They reside in Easton.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata. An additional visitation will be held Saturday, March 7, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Road, Ephrata, followed by her funeral service at 12 p.m., with Pastor Walter Carter officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
