Mario Peter Cruz, 58, Denver, ran forklift at Tyson Foods, Weaverland Mennonite member

Mario Peter Cruz, 58, of Denver, went into the arms of his Savior Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at his home, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Maruco and Luisa (Caez) Cruz. He was married 13 years on Feb. 17 to Rebekah (Jewell) Cruz.

He worked as a forklift operator at Tyson Foods in New Holland.

He and his wife attend Weaverland Mennonite Church. Mario loved people and spent much time talking and joking with them in person and on the phone.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three brothers: Jose, married to Thomsa Cruz of Stevens; Ismauel, married to Angela Cruz; and David, married to Naomi Cruz of Winter Haven, Fla.; and two sisters: Aurora Cruz of Gainesville, Va.; and Aura, married to Carmelo Cruz of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico.

Services were held Nov. 1 at Weaverland Mennonite Church, East Earl, with the Reverend Brian Martin and the Reverend Don Weaver officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
