Miriam R. Groff, 75, Stevens, worked at Weaver Markets deli, enjoyed appliquéing quilts

Miriam R. Groff, 75, of Stevens, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy after a brief illness.

Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Katie (Bowman) Brubaker. She was married 55 years on April 25 to Harold Groff Jr.

Miriam was a member of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren. She had worked previously in the deli department at Weaver Markets in Adamstown. She enjoyed appliquéing quilts, crossword puzzles, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons: Lamar, married to Kim (Shrock) Groff of Ephrata; and James, married to Christel (Beam) Groff of Denver; three daughters: Joyce, married to Stanley Ward of Lititz; Donna, married to Charles Pittman of New Holland; and Julie, married to Wayland Alexander of Cleona; 10 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; a brother: Samuel, married to Verna (Boll) Brubaker of Manheim; and a sister: Anna Mary, married to Harvey Crills of Akron.

Preceding her in death is a sister: Mildred Showalter.

Funeral services were held Nov. 3 at Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, Lititz, with the Reverend Wilbur G. Rohrer and the Reverend Ivan R. Lutz officiating. Interment was in the Martindale Mennonite Cemetery.
