Barbara I. Moore, 55, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at Hershey Medical Center with family and friends at her bedside.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Jack B. and Harriet A. Klees Moore.
Barbara was a graduate of Lancaster Career and Technology Center with a degree in practical nursing and she received her bachelor’s degree in individual and family ftudies from Penn State University. She was employed at Denver Health and Rehabilitation Center in Denver.
Barbara was funny, strong-willed and determined. She was a fighter who lived independently for 25 years with a severe health condition. She loved playing bingo, watching TV, working with the elderly, helping others, and being at home with her pets, to whom she was devoted.
Surviving are three brothers: Jeffrey C. Moore, husband of Suzanne, of Elma, N.Y.; Timothy D. Moore, and Jack E. Moore, husband of Christina, all of Wernersville; three sisters: Deborah F. Myatt, of Scituate, Mass.; Katherine G. Treier, wife of Thomas, of Leola; Susan J. Moore, wife of Neil Merkowitz, of Alfred Station, N.Y.; 10 nieces and nephews; and nine great nieces and nephews.
A brother: Gregory H. Moore, preceded Barbara in death.
