Catherine E. “Betty” Good, 93, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at the Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in Ephrata to the late John W. and Elsie W. (Christ) Mink and was the wife of the late W. Raymond Good who passed away in 2006. The couple had shared 66 years of marriage.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ephrata, where she worked in the nursery. During her working years, she had been the head cook at the former Bergstrasse Elementary school. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and quilting. She especially loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Gary L., husband of Judy (Anderson) Good of Cornwall; and John R., husband of Joan (Kosmela) Good of Ephrata; a daughter: Susan Ann Varian of Lancaster; seven grandchildren: Lynn, wife of Dean Auker; Michael Steininger; G. Todd, husband of Heidi Good; Ted Good; Tim, husband of Lisa Good; John R. Good Jr.; James, husband of Becky Good; and seven great-grandchildren: Amanda E. Auker, Evan P. Auker, Alison L. Auker, James Daniel Good Jr., Andrew J. Good, Grace L. Good and Pearl S. Good.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers: J. Randolph and William R. Mink.
Services were held Sept. 5 at First United Methodist Church, Ephrata, with Rev. Walter S. Carter officiating. Interment followed in the Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery
