David T. Hauck, 58, Navy vet, electrical mechanic, enjoyed grilling, scuba diving, and helping vets

David T. Hauck, 58, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at home.

He was born in Smithtown, N.Y., to the late Arthur J. and Jean E. (Mehr) Hauck.

David was a an electrical mechanic. He enjoyed traveling, scuba diving and cooking out on his grill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Preble. He was a member of the Lodge B.P.O. Elks #1933, Ephrata Amvets Post #336, Cocalico Post #3376 VFW, and Lititz Springs Post #1463. He was also a member of the IOOB Sportsmen’s Club, Chapter 358, where he enjoyed shooting blocks. He recently had a passion to help veterans in need.

David is survived by seven siblings: Susan Rote of Ephrata, Sharon Kauffman of Missouri, Arthur Hauck Jr. of Denver, Timothy Hauck of Lititz, Laurie Hawkins of Lititz, Gary White of California, Bear White of Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Eileen Myers and Sandy Smith.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Stradling Funeral Home, 30 N. Ninth St., Akron, following a brief memorial service at 1 p.m. Interment will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 11:30 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
