Mildred W. Nolt High, 90, Victor F. Weaver worker

Mildred W. Nolt High, 90, of Ephrata, formerly of Bowmansville and New Holland, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 of natural causes at Fairmount Homes.

Born in Blue Ball, she was the daughter of the late David G. and Lizzie M. (Witmer) Horst. Her first husband, Paul M. Nolt, died in 1995 after 55 years of marriage, and her second husband, Henry H. High, died in 2005 after eight years of marriage.

Mildred worked for 15 years at the former Victor F. Weaver, Inc. in New Holland and she hosted overnight tour guests in her home for several years. She was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church.

Surviving are two daughters: Pauline H., married to Lloyd W. Weaver of New Holland, and M. Jane, married to Wilbur M. McMichael of Lancaster; two sons: Philip E., married to Margaret Nolt, of New Holland, and Steven J., married to Sharon Nolt, of New Holland; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Minerva W., married to Mervin S. Horst of New Holland, and Arlene, married to Paul G. Reiff of Leola; a daughter-in-law: Shirley A. Nolt of Paradise; and a stepdaughter: Ruth Ann, married to Harold Eberly of East Earl.

Preceding her in death is a stillborn daughter; a son: David L. Nolt; a great-granddaughter: Jenna Sauder; a sister: Florence Stauffer; and a brother: Marvin Horst.

Services were held Dec. 10 at Groffdale Mennonite Church, Leola, with the Reverend Tom Eshleman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Groffdale Mennonite Church, address above.
