Kathryn E. “Betty” Schonour, 73, of Ephrata, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at 2:04 p.m. at Hospice in Mount Joy following a six-year battle with colon cancer.
Born in Warwick Township, a daughter of the late Christian S. and Kathryn S. (Kreiter) Franck, she was the wife of George A. Schonour for 49 years.
Betty worked at Cinderella Knitting Mill and last for Ephrata Area School District. She was a member of Ephrata Community Auxiliary and enjoyed bingo, crocheting and word search puzzles.
Also surviving is a daughter: Lorrie A. Schonour, Lititz; a sister: Doris Jean Keith, Ephrata; and brothers: Donald K. (Renie Zoll) Franck, Stevens; and Carl K. (Louetta Gring) Franck, Denver.
Her brothers: Richard and James, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Chaplain Glenn A. Beard, Jr. officiating. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. A viewing will be held the previous evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and immediately prior to the service Thursday.
