Elmer Shreiner Jr., 92, of Akron, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.
He was born in Warwick Township to the late Elmer Sr. and Grace (Weachter) Shreiner, and was the husband of the late Vera M. Shreiner, who passed away in 2016
Elmer was a heavy equipment operator. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II era.
Elmer is survived by two sons: Terry L., husband of Gail Shreiner of Great Mills, Md.; Dale R., husband of Kimberly Shreiner of Lititz; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Gloria Wolf of Lititz; Charles L. Shreiner of Shiremanstown; Richard Shreiner of Mount Joy; Nancy, wife of Kenneth Fern of Manheim.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings: Evelyn Cammauf, Jane Houser, Miriam Burkholder, Lilly Gochnaur; an infant son: Larry Shreiner; and great-granddaughter Danielle Burris.
Services were held May 6 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron. Interment took place in the Rothsville Lutheran Cemetery.
