Owen L. White Sr., 87, of Ephrata, was called home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Fairmount Homes Retirement Community, where he resided.
He was the loving husband of the late Beulah F. (Feil) White, who passed away Jan. 23, 2016. Born on Jan. 12, 1932 in Livermore Falls, Maine, Owen was a son of the late Amos and Elsie (Richmond) White.
He worked for the Rockville Centre Parks Department in Long Island, N.Y. as a parks department foreman. Owen was a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Ephrata.
He was a joy to be with and taught those around him what it meant to serve others in love. Owen will be remembered for his smile and how he loved to share God’s blessings with family, friends and acquaintances.
Surviving Owen are three daughters: Nona-Sue Mellish (the late Tim Mellish), Oklahoma City, Okla.; Kristie Bonham, Edmond, Okla.; Marilyn (Mark) Harris, Yukon, Okla.; and two sons: Owen Jr. (Patty), Ephrata;, and Barry (Cheryl), Minoa, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Owen’s memorial service will be held at the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 110 Durlach Road, Ephrata, on Saturday, Feb.. 9, at 2 p.m., with Pastors B.W. Hambrick and Owen White III officiating. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. A light meal will be provided in the church café for family and friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Owen’s name may be made to Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 110 Durlach Road, Ephrata, PA 17522.
