David F. Steinmetz, 87, Korea veteran, Steffy Brick plumber and mechanic, Reinholds VFW member

David F. Steinmetz, 87, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at Manor Care, Sinking Spring.

He was born in Rothsville to the late David and Emeline (Fetter) Steinmetz, and was the husband of Mary F. (Stuber) Steinmetz, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

David was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He was employed as a mechanic/plumber for Steffy Brick. He was a hard worker and an active member of the Reinholds VFW Post 6759.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by a son: Kevin Steinmetz; two daughters: Wendy Newsome and Tammy Ryave; four grandchildren: Jamie Hornberger, Angie Hauck, Marcus Ryave, and Nikolas Ryave; four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Payton, Austin, and Rory; and a sister: Anabelle Snyder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Agnus Rupp and Sarah Bergman.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
