Betty Lee Maxcy, 81, of Ephrata, passed into God’s hands Monday, Nov. 11, 2013.
Born in Montclair, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Henry Kingston Aprill and Lillian Glerum Aprill.
A graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y., Mrs. Maxcy was a registered nurse at various facilities over the years including Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital, the Fort Belvoir and Fort Hood Hospitals and Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Lancaster. She also served as director of the Migrant Health Clinic in Marion, Ind. and ended her nursing career at the Home Instead Senior Care, Lancaster. She was a member of the Leola United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and traveling.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Kim, married to David Lappe, Mountain Lakes, N.J.; Jeffrey, married to Lisa Maxcy, Glendale, Ariz.; three grandchildren: Douglas, Meg and Katrina and a brother: Jack, married to Emily Aprill, Cape May Court House, N.J.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
