John C. Landis, 77, of Akron, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.
He was born in Ephrata to the late John H. and Daisy (Donmoyer) Landis, and was the husband of Pearl M. (McCreary) Landis, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.
John was a truck driver for Tyson Chicken (formerly Weaver’s) in New Holland. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid motorcyclist.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by a stepson: Chris Hornberger, companion of Trish Underwood of Lancaster; a stepdaughter: Cheryl Hornberger, companion of Alan Plopa of Harrisburg; two grandsons: Tyler and Brandon Hornberger; a great-granddaughter: Myla Hornberger; a brother: Dennis R., husband of Nancy Landis of Oceanside, Calif.; and three sisters: Sandra, wife of Jerry Butzer of Ephrata; Bonita Brenner of Ephrata; Amy Orner of Lititz.
Services were held Dec. 19 at Stradling Funeral Home, Akron. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
