Robert S. Carter, 90, of Lebanon, passed away Friday Nov. 30, 2018 at his residence.
Bob was the husband of the late Joan A. Whitlock Carter. He was born in Ephrata on Nov. 16, 1928, son of the late William B. and Miriam Hipple Carter.
Bob was a Navy veteran. He was a retired pharmacist, having worked at Doungh Pharmacy and the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was a life member of the Lebanon Elks and the Ephrata American Legion Post. He was also a member of the Lebanon AMVETS, Lebanon Navy Club, Navy Corpsmen’s Association, Lebanon Community Theatre and TCA. He enjoyed bridge and was a model train enthusiast.
Bob is survived by his children: William B., husband of Cecila Carter of Camp Hill; Robert M. Carter of Lebanon; Stacy K. Carter, companion of Bob Nelson of Etters; Thomas A., husband of Beth Deck of Vermillion, Ohio; John A., husband of Annette Deck of New Jersey; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister: Mabert C. Mellinger.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob’s memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 890 Isabel Drive, Lebanon, with Rev. David Kreider officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home beginning Saturday at 10 a.m. to time of the service.
