Lenore Flickinger Hummel, Ephrata Township retiree, volunteer at ECH, Friends of Eberbach member

Lenore Flickinger Hummel, wife of Fred H. Hummel, of Luther Acres, formerly of Ephrata, passed away on Sept. 24, 2018.

She was born April 14, 1928 in Homer City, Indiana County, to the late Lisle S. Flickinger and Annie (Reichardt) Flickinger.

She graduated from Homer City High School, class of 1946, and attended Lancaster Business School. She was a bookkeeper for several businesses and retired from Ephrata Township after 17 years.

Lenore was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Ephrata. She was also a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Ephrata Golden Years and Friends of Eberbach and was a volunteer at Ephrata Community Hospital for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Trudy, wife of Bruce Shaner of Ephrata.

A viewing will be held on, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. with Pastor Karen Minnich-Sadler officiating. Interment will take place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
