Ruth G. Burkhart, 94, worked at Keystone Nightwear, Christian Aid, Re-Uzit Shop volunteer

Ruth G. Burkhart, 94, of Ephrata, formerly of Reamstown, entered into the presence of her Lord on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Fairmount Homes.

Her husband of 60 years, John H. Burkhart, preceded her in death in 2001. Born in Bowmansville, she was the daughter of the late Barton and Elizabeth (Geigley) Good.

Ruth was a seamstress for the former Keystone Nightwear Company. She had also volunteered at Christian Aid Ministries and Re-Uzit Shop, Ephrata.

Surviving are three children: Shirley, married to Paul Weaver, Denver; Wilmer G., married to Maryann Burkhart, East Earl; and John Jr., married to Ann Burkhart, Akron; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter: Betty Jane Roland, on Sept. 4; three infant children: Dorothy Mae Burkhart, Donald Eugene Burkhart, Gloria Fay Burkhart; and seven siblings: Edna Good, Amos Good, Elizabeth Fox, Susanna Good, Isaac Good, Ella Mae Weaver, and Edwin Good.

Her memorial service will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, with Pastor Larry Weber officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the adjoining cemetery.
