Joel E. ‘Sonny’ Lindberg, 72, EHS grad, co-owner of J&L Trucking, had great sense of humor

Joel E. “Sonny” Lindberg, 72, Ephrata, died Aug. 5, 2017, at Mount Joy Hospice Center.

Born in Farmersville, he was a son of Lydia (Auker) Lindberg, Ephrata, and the late Joel N. Lindberg.

He graduated in 1962 from Ephrata High School and was a member of The Worship Center, Leola. “Sonny” was a co-owner of J&L Trucking, Denver, and worked for H&K Group, Reading. Joel will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife: Dorothy I. (Mohler) Lindberg; children: Joelane E. Lindberg, Sturgis, S.D; and Robin A. (Pam) Lindberg, Fort Knox, Ky.; grandchildren: Kaige and Ashtin; sisters: Grace (Clement) Stauffer and Thelma (Mark) Stauffer, both Ephrata; and a brother: E. Ray (Angie Pandolfino) Lindberg, Shirleysburg.

His first wife, Kathryn H. (Boose) Lindberg, died May 13, 1990.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m., from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Ephrata. The viewing will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., and prior to the service Thursday.
