Donald H. Benedict, 89, of Denver, passed away Thursday evening, June 15, 2017, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy Center.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Amos R. and Bessie Quinn Benedict.
Don served 38 years in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II as a Navy Seabee. He returned home and worked for the Lancaster County Prison and other various local companies.
He is survived by his children: Patrick W., (Stephanie) Benedict of Adamstown; Alan D. Benedict of Ephrata; and Jennifer J., (John A.) Wentz of Denver; Richard Benedict, Joyce Patch-Davis, Jeannie Benedict, Jerry Benedict and Janet Goodpaster, all of Illinois; as well as 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
A private family graveside service will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
