John W. Martin, 79, attended Denver Mennonite Church, father of seven

John W. Martin, 135 Weidmansville Road, Ephrata, born July 23, 1937, died April 14, 2017, at the age of 79 years, eight months, and 22 days.

He was born in East Earl Township to the late Henry M. and Lucy G. (Weber) Martin, and was the husband of Mabel M. (Martin) Martin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy J. (Gingrich) Martin

John was a member of the Denver Mennonite Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Dale, husband of Rhoda (Burkholder) Martin, of Scipio Center, N.Y.; David, husband of Joyce (Witmer) Martin, of Ephrata; Jesse Martin of Ephrata; three daughters: Sharon, wife of Randall Hurst, of Rochester, Wash.; Mary Jane, wife of Jacob Neuenschwander, of Manheim; Rosene, wife of Louis Burkholder, of Cambridge Springs; 43 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Andrew, Henry, Warren of Reinholds; and Rufus of Lititz.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son: Philip, a grandson; a granddaughter; and six sisters.

Services were held April 19 at Denver Mennonite Church, Denver. Interment took place in the Denver Union Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
