Lisa A. Heft, 40, of Denver, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of Mary Jane (Bowman) Horning of East Earl, and the late Marvin W. Horning. She and her husband Jason Heft marked 18 years of marriage on May 16.

Lisa had been working for the past six years as a volunteer coordinator for Mennonite Central Committee in Ephrata.

She was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church, and was also attending Koinos Community Church in Sinking Spring. She had served as past president of Lancaster Mennonite Women, and she loved studying the Bible. Her family and friends could easily describe her as “fun-filled Lisa.”

Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are three daughters: Karlie, Angelina, and Ella; and four brothers and sisters: Jeanette, married to Rick Klumpp, of Narvon; John, married to Joanna (Gehman) Horning, of Denver; Darla Horning of East Earl; and Steve, married to Cheryl (Martin) Horning, of Ephrata.

Services were held Oct. 18 at Weaverland Mennonite Church, East Earl, with Pastors Brian Martin and Tim Deihl officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, P.O. Box 500, Akron, PA 17501.
