Elton E. “Zeke” Weitzel, 87, Sinking Spring, died at home Sunday, May 8, 2016.
Born in Spring Township, Berks County, a son of the late George D. and Wilma (Wenrich) Weitzel, he was married to Marian L. (Ansel) Weitzel for 60 years.
Elton graduated in 1946 from Wilson High School and was a partner with Gress & Weitzel Builders, Denver. He was a Korean War army veteran and had also been in the Marine Corps. An avid golfer and hunter, Elton was a life member and former treasurer of Fritztown Fire Company and life member of Marion Rod and Gun Club.
Also surviving is his son: Gregory S. (Melissa A. Stricker) Weitzel, Sinking Spring; and grandchildren: Felicia and James.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Dr. Jon A. Fogel. Inurnment will be Friday, May 27, at 10 a.m., in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville. There will be no viewing at Elton’s request.
