Laura M. Sweigart, 76, of Stevens, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.
She was born in Robesonia to the late Lester L. and Ruth Ellen (Althouse) Frantz, and was the wife of Donald C. Sweigart, with whom she shared 31 years of marriage.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Womelsdorf, where she loved to sing as a member of the church choir. She and Donald were snowbirds in Florida for many years, and they loved to travel on their motorcycle. She also loved playing cards and bingo.
In addition to her husband Laura is survived by six children: Patti A., wife of Gary Letterhouse; Denise L., wife of Douglas Lausch; Debra L., wife of Barry Wenrich; Kathy M. Madara; Dennis L., husband of Tammy Sweigart; and Denise Hoffa; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother: David L. Frantz.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, from 12 to 1 p.m., at the Zion United Church of Christ, 12 S. Second St., Womelsdorf, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Leon C. Moll officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
