Rosaline M. Brendle, 86, of Ephrata, formerly of New Holland, died of natural causes Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Ephrata Manor.
Born in Akron, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Adams) Sweigart. Her husband, John Brendle Jr., died May 16, 2013.
Rosaline retired in 1992 after 22 years of service with the former Zausner’s, now Advanced Food Products, of New Holland. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of New Holland, the Golden Years of Ephrata, and the New Holland Rec Center.
She was very friendly and outgoing and loved traveling to the mountains and to the beach with a favorite destination as Ocean City, Md. She also enjoyed traveling with “The Granny Van Bunch” and had many adventures and lots of laughter, bowling at the former Blue Ball Lanes leagues, playing piano and organ, and music. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
In her later years she loved going to the New Holland Rec Center for her Aquacize classes where she made many friendships. She loved and was loved by the staff and residences of Ephrata Manor Nursing Home.
Surviving are two sons: Terry L., married to Patricia Brendle, of Ephrata; and Donald R., married to Karen Brendle, of New Holland; five grandchildren: Jeremy, Lindsay, Corey, Terry Lee, and Cyndi; and two great-grandsons: Grant and Austin.
Preceding her in death is a brother: Clifford Sweigart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m., at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, with the Rev. Robert Stippich officiating. Interment will be in the Zeltenreich Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
