Pauline H. Marxen, 89, of West Reading, formerly of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Manor Care Nursing Home.
She was born in Brownstown to the late Marvin H. and Ruth Burkholder (Herr) Marxen.
Pauline was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church in Rothsville. She was also a member of the Ephrata VFW, and the Ephrata Amvets, where she also worked as a cook. Throughout the years she worked for Dutchmaid, Moyers, and the Millway Hosiery Mill.
Pauline is survived by two daughters: Theresa “Terry” D. Marxen of Ephrata; and Tina, wife of Mark Russum, of Ephrata; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Betty J. Marxen, Ruth Marie Weidman, and Doris A. Wise, all of Ephrata.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons: Rodney L., Gregory L., and Brian J. “Marti” Marxen; and a sister: Lois L. Patterson.
A visitation will be held Nov. 15, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Abram Rhoads officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
