Harold W. Martin, 71, of Lititz, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Lancaster General Hospital.
He was born in Clay Township to the late Weaver B. and Mary Z. (Weaver) Martin and was the husband of Norma (Horst) Martin with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in June.
Harold was a member of the Springville Mennonite Church. He was a self-employed farmer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Dale L., husband of Brenda Martin, of Denver; Gary L, husband of Sharon Martin, of Ephrata; Nelson R., husband of Marilyn Martin, of McAlisterville; two daughters: Donna, wife of Earl Martin, of Ephrata; Cheryl, wife of Amos Martin Jr., of Myerstown; 27 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers: Clarence, husband of Jane Martin, of New Holland; Jerry, husband of Jean Martin, of Ephrata; Vernon, husband of Susan Martin, of Denver; and a sister: Mary Lou, wife of Adam Sensenig, of New Holland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson; and a sister:, Ruth Martin.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, 210 E. Lexington Road, Lititz. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 8:45 a.m., from the Midway Mennonite Reception Center, with further services at 9:30 a.m., at the Springville Mennonite Church, 580 Springville Road, Ephrata, with Bishop Lester B. Martin, Bishop Melvin Martin and Ministers Wilmer Martin and Walter Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
