Roger J. Dohner, 81, of Akron, passed away after a brief illness, Thursday, June 18, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Penn Township to the late Earl and Alverta (Kline) Dohner, he was the husband of Sarah L. (Martzall) Dohner with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Roger was a member of the Akron Church of the Brethren. He was a truck driver at Sensenich Propellers until his retirement in 1993, was a member at the Ephrata Rec Center, an avid golfer, an ASA umpire, and enjoyed yard work and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: James E. Dohner at home; Joseph T., husband of Tracy (Hiester) Dohner of Brickerville; a daughter: Wendy S. Young of Lancaster; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother: Clair, husband of Karen Dohner of Hershey; and a sister, Rosaleen Yunginger of Akron.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, at 3 p.m., at Akron Church of the Brethren, 613 Main St., Akron, with Pastor Tom Weber officiating. There is a time for viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Wolf Cemetery.
