Elizabeth A. Young, 93, of Ephrata, passed away Monday evening, June 1, 2015, at the Ephrata Manor, where she had been a guest since February. The Lord has taken one of the most loving mothers on earth, and she has rejoined her family in heaven with open loving arms.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Bernard J. and Pearl Allison Dougherty, and wife of the late Charles K. Young, who passed away Sept. 19, 2002.

Elizabeth had worked for and managed the shoe department, Spencer Shoes, at the former Nichols Department Store. She enjoyed watching game shows and working crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, and was an avid Phillies fan.

Elizabeth will be loved and greatly missed by her children: Lois E. Shultz of Ephrata and Steven A. Young of Saganaw, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; her sister-in-law: Anna Young; and many nieces and nephews; and lastly, her loving companion, Maddie, her toy poodle.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Charles W. Young and Ronald R. Young; three sisters: Jean Stetler, Helen Zimmerman, and Louise Hawthorne; and a brother: Bernard J. Dougherty.

Services were held June 8 at Fred F. Groff Funeral Home, Lancaster, with the Pastor Adam Forry officiating. Interment was at Conestoga Memorial Park.

Online condolences may be posted to thegroffs.com. The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Lancaster, handled the arrangements.
