Vilma D. Lapp, 78, Ephrata, Calvary Monument Bible Church member, enjoyed knitting

Vilma D. Lapp, 78, of Ephrata, formerly of Paradise, passed away at the Ephrata Community Hospital Thursday, May 28, 2015.

She was the wife of David G. Lapp with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on Aug. 18. Born in Atglen, she was the daughter of the late Ammon and Lillie Smoker Stoltzfus.

She was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church of Paradise, where in the past she was a Sunday School teacher for the two-year-olds and also helped in the church library. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and riding motorcycle with her husband. Vilma was a member of Seven Pines Cabin.

Surviving besides her husband are three children: Ronald, husband of Darlene Eberly Lapp, of Gap; Darrell, husband of Karen Wilcox Lapp, of Ronks; Pamela, wife of Brian Herr, of Quarryville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Lavern Petersheim of North Carolina, William Stoltzfus of Ephrata, and Violet, wife of Alpha Yoder, of Christiana.

She was preceded in death by eight siblings: Harold, Daniel, Mark Stoltzfus, Rosella Slaymaker, Erma Lapp, Vera Kurtz, and Elizabeth and Mabel Stoltzfus.

A memorial service was held June 1 at Calvary Monument Bible Church, Paradise, Pastor Thomas Hubbard officiating. Private interment took place prior to the memorial service.

Arrangements were handled by the Shivery Funeral Home, Christiana and Paradise.
