Deaths of Local Interest – May 27, 2015

Samyiah D. Floran, infant daughter of Benjamin Floran and Vanessa L. Jackson, was stillborn May 16 at Women & Babies Hospital of LGH. Her brother, David A. Furjanic Jr., lives in Ephrata.

Janet Frymyer Hoover, 87, of Lancaster, passed away at her home May 21, following a long illness. She worked at Eastbrook Family Health Center as a receptionist until she retired. Not only did she know each patient, she also knew each chart number. One of Janet’s legacies is her delicious homemade chicken pie that she delivered to families with new babies or to families in times of illness. Her brother, Robert Frymyer, lives in Akron.

Pauline M. Stoltzfus, 86, of Lancaster, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital May 23. Along with her late husband Lester, she owned a farm in the Parkesburg area and also operated a produce stand at Root’s Market of Manheim, Green Dragon of Ephrata and the Leesport Farmers’ Market. She enjoyed vacationing to Florida, traveling especially to Dollywood, camping, quilting and playing bingo

Durell Lee Zimmerman, 4, of New Holland, died May 23 at his home from natural causes related to his special needs condition since birth. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Glen M. and Cristine (Brubaker) Zimmerman. His paternal grandparents, Raymond G. and Esther Mae (Martin) Zimmerman; and paternal great-grandfather, Henry H. Martin, live in Ephrata.
